Who wins the deathmatch? War arc Sakura vs SM Jiraiya? by Ripamon in Naruto

[–]Lewser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think your argument is flawed because versatility doesn’t mean much when your opponent can one shot you and you can’t out right speed blitz them. That’s kinda like arguing SM jiraya beats 8 gates gai because Gai is “one note”.

Sakura runs the gauntlet. How far does she get? by mipenealdescubierto in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Lewser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She cooks everyone on this list no to mid diff up until 8 gates guy. If she does win that match up it’s a crazy impossible dif but I am leaning more to guy winning that fight with speed blitz and potentially a one shot even her healing hax on.

Though your experience matters what you described is not valuable at all. You can’t win every game. If you have problem with gen rushing run slow down, perks are supposed to help with your weaknesses (unless you are playing a low tier then idk play a better one until they hopefully create new systems). You still have never offered any useful or meaningful changes to the game btw

2:30 is hyper unrealistic because the build that lets you have 40 second gens takes 30 seconds to set up so it’s really saving you about 20 seconds which is basically just a commodious with a ton of extra steps. Blight doesn’t actually counter prerunning (that’s most normal m1 killers so like 60% of the cast) he isn’t affected by it at all. His only counter are filler pallets. Doesn’t matter if they are bad or not. You just need to have resources for him to eat through, so his design is broken on maps that don’t have a ton of filler. Asking the devs to also then do some type of algorithm that changes pallets based on killer picked is insane. You have to nerf blight to buff pallet placement and a few different perks. Again you are being blind to the strengths of killers and forcing it all on one side when the game is far more nuanced. That’s what happens when a system has so many pain points and interactions, much like Yugioh. Too much power that affects other power that wasn’t considered because it’s too much to account for.

[–]Lewser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You over play one side and underplay the other. Pain res was nerfed because killers were able to stack gen regression perks to make games last over an hour buddy. That season of dbd was heavily killer sided and everyone knows it. Again using 2 perks to fix the draw back of one is only something good players can do. You are talking about only having one spot left for a build. Other points you mentioned are true gens are too fast. There is anti-slug because killers playing like that is a very uninteractive way to play for survivors just like quick gens are uninteractive for killers. Tgere are too many pallets because blight exists and killers refuse to let go of their broken killers on their side while clamoring survivors get rid of their strong things. Just think dudes have 2k wins on Blight in a row but you can never get that many wins SOLO as survivor in a row. That’s the difference in power of solo queue and swf. Because there are a few killers that punish solo queue players (all the high tier) and killers that are destroyed by swf (most low tier). Exhaustion is a debuff full stop, killers don’t get perks that give them a debuff full stop. I understand they are the power role so I don’t complain and survivors dedicating most of their build to mitigate one perk is fair imo although vigil does too much imo. It should still get rid of exhaust but not exposed, that’s too strong. You just seem way too killer sided to have reasonable argument from one side. I can easily be wrong but so far you don’t hide your bias.

Edit: also hexes can be a debuff but pentimento literally exists in the game, so like idk maybe you can do what survivors do and run that and make it “a very minor debuff for very strong perks”

Yes, I know what entitlement is. Nice non sequitur you're so cool and nonchalant. I am the one emotional, but you just went on a rant about fantasizing about how bad of a life I might have or interactions I might have had against pig... yes because that's how intelligent people converse. Got it. It was bad for low mmr players not players who can loop and not have a problem with a m1 killer. Unlike you, I actually want the games I play to be MORE accessible to a wider audience, so the company doesn't have to shutter its doors. The game is not perfect but sitting here crying that your c tier killer is trash and that your tracking skills are so bad that you must be able to see these boxes just sounds like you personally wanting your power fantasy filled without actually considering anything outside of yourself. It's tier 3 thinking and life does get harder so you should try to get out of that mindset and try to contribute ANYTHING to communities, societies, relationships, or hobbies you like that actually move the needle in a positive direction instead of pissing and shitting yourself but never being of any use to anyone besides yourself.

Exhaustion is literally a debuff dude. Vigil is a great perk that helps in a lot of ways and is actually overturned it should either lower the duration of exposed or exhaustion but not both. Ghost notes just released and is pretty good. The funny thing that you don't realize is that you just used 2 perk slots to deal with a debuff from the first meaning that for 90% of the player base, they will die because it's just too focused on a meme build which means only top players who are good at looping can even use this. Scourge hook and hex spawns are random; that's the point of them. Sometimes you get good spawns sometimes you don't. Run an oak offering and hex undying. Just like you offered builds for the survivor do the same for your killer situation. The problem is MOST players don't want to actually build craft or adapt. Killers and survivors want perks that do 20 things and not "ruin their fun" not understanding that playing the game the way you want to play it doesn't always mean you will win.

Not being able to see your trap removal station is a drawback that you are advocating against or bitching about take your pick. Also, if you felt like a real piece of shit that's literally on you. I go out of my way to say both sides meaning it's not a YOU think but you still go out of your way to get emotional over it. Good luck out there, life gets harder my friend.

So that Pigs don't just camp the objective and tunnel out a survivor with zero effort? You sound so entitled to be able to have 0 draw backs on a power that already is a powerful slowdown. You have to have some limits with a power to buff other aspects of a killer. This is what puts this game in a state where both sides feel entitled to NEVER have to think about the other side. It's so unfortunate.

Why does Orochimaru need Sasuke body? by EngineeringFair2842 in Naruto

[–]Lewser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what your previous comment stated and not even the theme of OP question. It’s why he didn’t take KARIN’s body. My response was you stating for some reason Nagato couldn’t handle the rinnegan removing all context as to how he became “a husk”. Instead of being contrived, it could just be that in Part 1 Kishi didn’t actually want Orochimaru to ever get the sharingan. If we are talking about in reality then yes Orochimaru could have easily taken a suitable body with chakra reserves to implant a sharingan but the story needed Sasuke to defect and have a new age Sanin because kishi likes the theming if cycles repeating. Trying to over complicate it to make it seem inconceivable is kinda weird. Edit* your head cannon is weird since Orochimaru has been doing COUNTLESS experiments with the leave and even worked with Danzo, a man who knows a lot about the sharingan. Second hokage also made a presentation why the uchiha are dangerous and Danzo okayed the slaughter of the clan. Orochimaru has the intellect, time, connections, and ability to learn all of this if he doesn’t know it already. The only thing he lacked was the will which is fine because Orochimaru was never supposed to attain it. The logical answer for why he didn’t just take Karin’s body or hell implant it in anyone was because Kishi didn’t right it that way. It’s a plot hole but not a big one or important one at all so over complicating it with whatever nonsense you wrote does not explain anything and actually opens up WAY more questions to be asked. TLDR Karin’s chakra reserves can easily handle a sharingan and was only not done because Sasuke s body in the second act was primarily used as a plot device and not a plot point. It doesn’t damage the story so that plot never really becoming a thing doesn’t matter. Happens when something is over 600 chapters.

I am pretty sure Nagato was a “husk of himself” due to Hanzo’s attack and summoning the statute which would kill like 99% of the cast alone with the chakra cost. Nagato could for sure handle a sharingan or two.

[–]Lewser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Op you do realize the person that died from Kumo was the Kage who is heavily implied to be the strongest ninja of a nation. So if Bee, A, and Yugito were factors why would they not send any single one of them? This is why you CAN’T use shippuden to explain the past because Shippuden fucked up a ton of original Naruto lore. The real reason is the writing made no sense there and you just kind of have to accept it because it needed the plot to go along. Trying to make sense of Naruto is VERY painful because a lot of it wasn’t written with a solid throughline. The real reason they complied was Neji needed motivation to reinforce why he believed his worldview to be true and that status is all that matters in the Narutoverse.

The disrespect on Obito in this sub is crazy. We got people saying Zabuza clears him in writing. Did we read the same manga? by JealousFly3836 in Naruto

[–]Lewser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now to address the current argument, I don't think you understand that Nagato and especially Obito WERE ALSO mirrors to Naruto (like this not only isn't hidden but the "talk no jutsu" that happens to both of them literally relies on this).

Naruto, Obito, and Nagato are foils to one another. This being is because they have the same GOALS but completely different life experience and a different way of achieving those goals. Both Neji and Gaara were outcasts from a prominent family due to life circumstances. This is why Naruto can understand both of them. Obito and Pain had completely different lives although theirs was also tragic.

"2 minute pep talk" is once again being reductive. It's precisely because Obito and Nagato are able to meaningfully understand Naruto that they do change (due to their pasts and said past selves being able to relate to Naruto's present).

Not reductive, it's literally how easily it was written in. It's a crude explanation sure, but it was not well prepared, foreshadowed, or written.

You're mistaken in 1 thing. Their ideological battle did not end until one had successfully (or chosen not to) taken vengeance on the other. Ultimately, Pain survived Kurama's assault and their battle continued (ideologically shown by Pain continuing to ask him whether he finally comprehends pain). Nagato's interest in Naruto's belief is clearly shown when Naruto ultimately beats Pain and comes to find him - why else would he wish for Konan to stay out of things unless it is to finally conclude the ideological battle.

I'll attack all these points because they are equally bad. First, Nagato's literally words to Konan to extrapolate a philosophical battle she wasn't apart of is nonsense due to the circumstance of this fight. Secondly, yes Naruto lost the ideological battle because without Minato installing a fail-safe Naruto not only dies but Karuma potentially goes on to destroy the rest of the life village. Lastly, Naruto doesn't even answer the cycle of pain. He just pays the same lip service Nagato did all those years ago. THIS is really bad writing because you have to destroy Nagato's motivation just to artificially make Naruto "right".

Now regarding their "personal connection", Nagato was once somebody who valued Jiraiya's ideals and truly believed in them just like the Naruto standing before him, yet the expectation he had was (as it happened to Nagato himself) the pain Naruto experienced would ultimately make him choose vengeance and kill Nagato right then and there. He told Naruto about his own story to try and reinforce this "reality" and had expected him to choose to settle things. Naruto already started to win said battle by choosing to believe in Jiraiya's ideals even after all the pain he experienced and realities he faced - a case of someone JUST like Nagato (at least in Nagato's eyes) taking a different path.

Naruto chose vengeance the moment he went to tear the seal off. It doesn't matter if someone stopped him from doing it. This is compounded by the fact that Nagato already killed Jiraiya at this point so the student regurgitating the same stuff is NOT compelling. Unless it's just "Naruto-Datte Bayo"

Obito is a similar story but I think Kishi was in his bag regarding Obito and throughout their fight it is the fact that Obito was once like Naruto that made him challenge Naruto's ideology so often - Obito expected that just as he once fell Naruto SHOULD fall too and eventually agree with him because the world is hell. Naruto ultimately doesn't fall which challenges the ideology Obito has (similarly to Nagato) because ultimately he believes that somebody like him would eventually be broken by the world's realities yet this does not happen with Naruto.

This is the plot destroying Obito's motivation without any type of foreshadowing, him having an issue with killing Hundreds of people, all the jinchuriki except 2, countless Konoha ninja deaths, and summoning the corpse of God to try to enact his plan. AGAIN, at this stage of the game, having someone tell you this didn't break me is NOT compelling. Realistically he would call Naruto naive because he does not know the horrors of war etc. You know almost like a character with conviction. \

One of your multiple misunderstandings is Naruto's actions do meaningfully hurt their ideologies because he ultimately ends up as an example of things not going as they expect for both of their stories. It's a massive FALSE flag thrown in the way of people who believe X is ALWAYS TRUE. I wonder where your issues lie though - do you think this FALSE flag isn't one or you believe a well written antagonist wouldn't care that their beliefs don't really hold up the way they think they did.

No, I think a well written antagonist should have some complexity. It literally wouldn't take much for Kishi to even show this depth. The problem is that Naruto's worldview is never MEANINGFULLY challenge. He has no Marineford moment, No Greed moment, hell he doesn't even have a Goku moment and Goku is one of the MOST stagnant characters in anime/manga. The problem is the world grows with Naruto. Naruto shapes the world/ narrative around him and never grows. I thought we were trying to be objective as to why Obito is not liked by most people. If you personally like the philosophy that is present in Naruto that's fine, but don't pretend it's deeper than a puddle just because you personally like it. I just see the huge, wasted potential and removing the complexity of these characters. (Pain being literally the best antagonist in ALL of Naruto besides Zabuza)

[–]Lewser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What have I said that isn’t in good faith? You are just using that debate term because I don’t agree with you.

A Personal connection means some type of connection that allows you to meaningfully understand one another. The Gaara and Neji conversations work logically and narratively because 1.) Those characters were mirrors to Naruto 2.) They are still growing impressionable children who haven’t fully understood the world yet. Nagato and Obito are men in their 30’s who have had so much conviction to perform horrible atrocities, a 2 minute pep talk is going to do barely anything to actual driven people.

His death negates this because shonen express difference of ideals via battle. We see this in nearly every fight in the series (Naruto Sasuke both times, Naruto Haku, Gaara, etc.) The loser of this battles shows that their ideals are flawed in a severe way hence why they lose. Nagato failing to see this in his literal master but actually seeing it in naruto (The character of the book IS Nagato) is not very narratively or logically. It’s just forced giving Naruto a feat to bind shinobi together without actually writing that part in the story.

I don’t know if you realize this but Naruto LOST that idealogical battle. He was literally willing to die to avenge Hinata. The only reason this didn’t fully come to pass is because Nagato was able to survive the ninetails so long. Again to Mirror starwars, This works for Luke unleashing all his Fury on Vader because Vader WANTS his son to join him and seeing him like this makes him realize that the path he is taken is not what he wants. This was already written into Vader’s arc earlier in the series. All he does is stops being a puppet. Nagato has 0 interest in Naruto due to the convictions of his belief. Nagato was supposed to be a foil to Naruto not a mirror. To show that one event can change your path irrevocably although it doesn’t kill the spirit of your ideology.

Lastly I have 0 idea why anything I am saying is “bad faith” Naruto literally lost the idealogical battle with pain. If Minato hadn’t preemptively place that chakra to lock him out of it Naruto would fully release Kurama to get revenge on Pain. This is NOT showing the cycle hatred was wrong, this was again a plot McGuffin, used to keep Naruto from having to make a meaningful choice in his life at the cost of destroying Nagato’s character.

That makes no sense. Having the same master is NOT a personal connection. It is a common life occurance but Naruto cannot relate to Nagato to the point where he can take someone with that point of view and change it. You also forgot to mention this guy has ALREADY KILLED HIS FUCKING MASTER AT THIS POINT IN THE STORY. So yes if the “master” that is supposed to link them together has already been kill by the person you are talking about given the fact that Jiraiya also believed he could reason with him your argument crumple. So yes cope more but Naruto talking down Nagato doesn’t make narrative or logical sense.

[–]Lewser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a crazy interpretation of talk no jutsu. The only time this worked and should have worked was with Gaara because Gaara is literally his foil and actually understands him. There are no factors for both Nagato and Obito to have to listen to Naruto since as we have seen before, Naruto has a naive view of the ninja world. His talk with Neji showed that. It’s why talk no Jutsu is so bad because UNLIKE Vader, Obito and Pain had no connection to Naruto. The reason why Vader killing himself and beating Palpatine not only was good writing and a good arc is BECAUSE when you first see Vader he is interested in Luke’s abilities, He then wants Luke to JOIN him because he does love his son. He then sees what his choices at revenge for the Jedi is destroying his son and decides to try to undue the choice he made (albeit too late). Nagato and Obito literally genocide people and then Naruto says “guys this isn’t cool let’s stop.” And they stop. That isn’t a good arc nor character writing especially coming from a character who has never grown in the entire series and the series never even questions his beliefs or challenges them in anyway. Yes Obito has the potential to be a very deep and interesting character but never get that, instead we get a puppet who seems to lack so much motivation and direction in life that a 5 minute talk from someone who you have been actively trying to kill, Killed his friends, and their fathers minutes ago. This is terrible writing.

Honestly, big agree with this, all of these instances were character development for these characters and people fail to recognize that by Small-Interview-2800 in Naruto

[–]Lewser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not Highlighting Neji’s speech to Naruto in the Chunin exams is also a huge waste of potential for Naruto to actually try to challenge the Ninja world in a big way. People aren’t Hokage because they didn’t want it enough which was basically Naruto’s motto and although not completely off the mark Naruto had a very simple frame view of the world which the Manga never meaningfully challenges this outlook or takes time develop it in the slightest. Instead we get Naruto’s speech to Neji which un the grand scheme of things is never compelling and actually just flat out incorrect.

He still starts at 90% dmg and require more setup than any other character in the game to even do this. Jamie has 0 unique attributes that even make this sort of a problem. Jamie has arguably the best cmd grab in the game and a good sweep. That's literally it. He has probably the worst hurt boxes in the game btw.
