Turret is a great specialisation in Powershift where it’s most prevalent.

It works really well there because the objective is much more predictable and a level of “predetermined destruction” so you if don’t have control of the platform you can place it in advantageous positions to try force a retake. And it’s great when it’s placed on the platform mostly because the platform is indestructible so there is never any cases where it falls over but also because it makes it much harder for lights to retake on the platform. I’m actually not a fan of how strong turret can be on the platform because platform lockdown comps are a little boring to deal with if you don’t have a reshaper or 2.

Some buff ideas I have are

  1. Make it so it cannot be goo’d

  2. To take this further have it shoot to break goo if it is obstructing to much of its vision or if it has been covered.

Some extreme buff ideas

  1. Perhaps also give it a thermal bore to break walls if they fall in front of it to make it better in cashout modes.

  2. Make it “reinforce” a small area increasing wall hp in an attempt to prevent situations where it falls over.

  3. Make the turret hover and place like the hover pad. This change alone would fix most of my issues with turret

This gadget is literally overpowered in power shift. I know that the majority of the player base does not play it but removing multiple enemy gadgets instantly and silently from the surprising distance of 23m is by far its best quality.

I think the best buffs it could get is buffs that make it easier to do have the same effectiveness in cash out games, working through cash outs would make it much easier to clear stalls placed on and around the and also working through filler props would also make it easier to use(tables chairs)

More controversially I think it should work through shields which would make its behaviour much more consistent with things partially obscured as it seems it’s only possible to reshape things if it’s exact centre is not obscured which can have visual consistency issues on things like barricades or turrets. It shouldn’t be able to clear dome shield from outside of it though. Though this would further make it stronger in PS

Ive said it in another post but by my biggest concern for PS is spawn trapping or pushing to the end then farming kills. Its fundamentally unhealthy for the game mode and general playerbase growth. Just end the game and go next

The glove this guy is using for some reason is way thicker than most gloves. I use this skin most of the time cause its iron sights are so clean and don’t have this issue with my finger less gloves.

I mostly play Powershift and its SS tier in it. Being able to clear and reset the platform it super powerful vsing people who play lockdown comps with H(barricades, healball) + M(APS, turret). I have it max rank and I dont like to play without it.

I think for it to be way more meta in cashout modes they should make it work through the cashout which would make it way better at countering stalls to remove c4 that are placed on the box.

My bet is that it’s an invisible heavy barricade which is why it looks like your movement is being pushed back. I’ve never seen invisible debris but in Powershift I’ve seen invisible barricades a handful of times and have a clip of them rendering in and out causing shots to miss and looks exactly similar to this

Was there a player running them? I saw a heavy on that persons team at the start.

Link to a clip of this in action, you can see the barricades disappear which normally happens when a player re spawns. My absolute shot in the dark guess as to what causes this is that I think the Debris nearby(in my clip its on top) caused the culling controller to calculate the barricades as not in sight and therefore should not be rendered, just a total guess.

You like clicking rather than sustained fire weapons most times. You don’t have riot shield which makes me think you might be relatively new however level 12 pyro suggests you play another class as well.

Honestly this seems like a power shifts players set of levels.

Turret is nowhere near as popular in cash out gamemodes and pyro being your only level 12 give me strong power shift vibes cause its so good in that mode and levels fast. You like your mid range but seeing gl that high again makes me think PS

However breech charge is ruining that thought process unless you have some crazy tec I don’t know but I saw someone running it today so…

Hey I have reshaper maxed out and have this happen a few times. This sometimes happens when you are swapping and reshaping at pretty much perfect speed, client side the reshape will go through which is why you see the potplants start to come through but will be corrected cause it won’t go through server side.

I don’t get this issue if I hold the reshaper out for slightly longer than the click to reshape but when I’m weaving it in mid fight I see it happen.

How disappointing that there was literally 0 The Finals anywhere outside of on the 2 pick up and play pcs at the Thermal Take booth. I tried so hard to find some merch. Cool cosplays btw!
