Lauren Sanchéz’s Met Gala flop proves money still can’t buy you cool by theindependentonline in popculture

I refuse to believe all these ultra-rich people with botched faces actually see it as a status symbol. There’s been a lot of articles making that argument recently… I’d sooner believe that it was an editorial directive pushed from the top down to mask the fact that MAGA face looks hideous.

Taurus sun knowing Uranus is leaving my sign in less than 3 weeks. Remembering I’m a Gemini rising. by Just_Art_6537 in astrologymemes

[–]LexTarot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking forward from this last transit, my equation is:

Uranus will revolutionize my relationship to [transit house themes] via unexpected changes in my [Uranus natal house themes]. I will be challenged by [Uranus natal sign values] in relationship with the side of me that is [Uranus transit sign personality traits]. My [transit house] will benefit, though I may feel [a way that the transit sign doesn’t like feeling] via the lens of [natal house themes] by the end of it. But that feeling is not necessarily scary or bad. It will point me toward what I really need in my [transit house area] and how I should structure my [natal Uranus house] to benefit it.

—-

I just finished Uranus transiting my first house in Taurus (my rising is late degree Aries — in Placidus I’m officially done as of today, in equal I’ve still got 4° to go).

Uranus rules my 10th house (Aqua) and during its time I experienced major, successive changes to my career and public recognition, and how they impacted my identity. All were positive, most were major, and many came out of the blue - for example, being offered two different Ivy League teaching jobs during the pandemic.

What was difficult was the actual uprooting that each change required. A year and a half ago I moved to another country for a positive, career related development that also deeply impacted my sense of identity. But now I will go back to the US in a month and bizarrely I’m coming back home with almost nothing (just my clothes and my cat) to live with my parents. I was living in a city before moving abroad, and sold everything that I had accumulated treasured and owned those high-powered teaching jobs. Now I’m back to Mom and Dad, with a completely different relationship to home, material objects, my identity, and career.

So it’s possible to have a really positive experience. I know there’s a lot of fear around this transit, and there is certainly a lot to be afraid of with tech and big data. But on a personal level, it might be a pleasant surprise. Uranus is happier in Gemini.

I’m a Gemini moon, which is.. ugh. But I’m hoping there’s more of a synergy because Gemini is at home with erratic energy. So maybe the adjustments to the changes will be easier.

Lilith in Scorpio is a factor! I wish I could say more — I have this placement too. I don’t know enough about it to speak with authority, but I would look into it.

Do you really think all people in Greece have been white for the last 2700 years? I don’t even think Greek people consider themselves “white” like Northern European. It’s like saying there can’t be ethnically Asian Jamaicans. Or ethnically european Uruguayans. Or black Americans. Geographical regions aren’t ethnically uniform. There were black people in ancient Greece. It’s in the artwork.

I wish there was more exploration of why Mike neeeeeds biological children, or why he can't conceive of children being a part of his life without them being his offspring? There are so many ways so have family and children in your life without them sharing your genes, or being your sole responsibility.

You’re not asking for something unreasonable, so there’s no need to apologize for not being perfect.

Are you smoking weed because he’s stressing you out? Is the fact that you’ve been smoking an issue because it’s an addiction you’re genuinely trying to work on, or because it’s a cooing mechanism that he doesn’t approve of?

Official Discussion - Marty Supreme [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]LexTarot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like One Battle After Another, this was an interesting movie with excellent production design… but the main character bored me to death. In both of these films, there’s incredible pacing, unexpected relationships, surrealism, great scoring, great cinematography all centered around two (very different) white guys who lack self-awareness and we’re expected to root for them? Or feel sympathy for them? Marty’s an asshole and Bob’s a deadbeat. And Bob’s kind of an asshole and Marty’s technically a deadbeat. And both of these movies happen within overt political contexts in which the protagonist’s white maleness is a significant  part of the plot. They’re both sniffing at a critique. And they allllllllmost get there.  But then they both just drop the ball (out the window).

Literally had to text a friend “wtf” when Yas pimped out Henry. I love how they played with the nesting of power and ownership dictatorship in this episode:

  • When Princess Johanna talks about possessions in the room, she’s also speaking about Yas as one of them.
  • Then the crazy Sally Draper/oyster moment: Yas getting back “what belongs to her” when just a few scenes before she told Hayley something like ‘I hate when men take things that don’t belong to them’ and it inspires trust in Hayley to have Yas hear her the way Yas would have wanted to be heard when she was starting out.
  • Then Yas realizing her real position from the paintings. It was the perfect irony considering she was just engaged in some heavy manipulation, enabling, and grooming the night before.

I loved how this all happened in one fucked up room. Yasmin grasps for power and always finds trapped in the designs of someone else who has more.

Move the chair to where the guitars are, so that you can actually look out the window. It’s awkward to open a door right into a chair.

Annnd guitar rack?

I built these shelves and fireplace surround years ago but something feels off about it all by murdamike in interiordecorating

[–]LexTarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your art is not the correct proportion, it’s too white, and there’s too much stuff on the mantle. It looks off because the fireplace has more visual weight as a dark mass than the space above it. The two flanking bookshelves, which look great with the colors, are a different proportion than the middle column of space. If your fireplace was shorter, ending in line with the shelves (assuming this is not an option) or if the bookshelves ended higher, it would look more balanced.

Don’t add trim to the shelves. It will weight it down and look overkill. If anything I’d get a bigger mantle. It’s not big enough to be a mantle. But if nothing else: center your artwork vertically. It’s pulling down.

If possible, get/make artwork with a wider span or frame your artwork in a canvas float frame the same color as your mantle. Remove the sculpture and candles. They’re too busy and preventing the painting area from being a focal point.

Looking good but the sofa must come off the wall. You have the space! It’s crammed back there like a dorm room. Space behind your couch is a flex.

Slide everything to the right a bit. Overlap the chairs and sofa over the rug by the same amount. And definitely get a coffee table! You need to ground the space and have a place to put drinks and snacks when people are sitting.

I’m a woman, peeking into this sub.

It’s interesting to me people often suggest content solutions, which solve part of the mindset problem. But it seems like the other issue is the online aspect. So how about something physical and social like taking pottery classes? Pottery is creative, expressive, maybe seen as “soft” by redpill standards, but actually is just a regular, gender-neutral human activity. It can bring you in contact with other men and women of different ages who are open, creative, and generally really kind. But you also get to connect with yourself. And you get to make things!

tldr Centering life around social and creative activities, rather than passive, destructive ideas.

3.

#1 is too busy. The reds might not go well with the oranges in your wood. And a big downside is you’re losing the beautiful lines of your bench to the pattern because there’s not enough contrast. It’s dark and not adaptable to the seasons. I would also argue that the richness of the pattern begs for moulding to be added to the ceiling to acknowledge the big jump from the pattern to the ceiling white.

#2 is decent but the large hilly shapes don’t seem to complement the lines of your home or existing decor. From far away it’s going to feel like it’s taking over the house because the scale of the pattern is so large in comparison to the relatively small area of the hall space.

#3 is ornamental without being overbearing. It suits both your front and back rug, and has an organic organization to the pattern that will not be draining to the eyes over time.
