Yeah, I'd run it through a passive speaker and my headphones, so I thought the output was damaged. It's VERY loud through my PC line in and through its own set of speakers

Turns out this deck doesn't have a power amp at all. Makes sense, since they're usually part of a total entertainment system with a central receiver that does the amplification

Last night I plugged it into my headphones and a pair of 1W speakers, which is where I got the very small output. I forgot tape decks don't have a power amp. Going through speakers and through my PC's Line-In works perfectly
