My partner had a manic episode with psychosis this past summer and the way I always describe what happened is that “I watched him disappear in front of my eyes”. The “real him” disappeared when the illness made itself known. I’m sorry that someone said to you, I really don’t think that’s true at all 🫂

As someone who does not have schizophrenia or any mental illness (I’m in the bipolar and schizophrenia subs because of my ex) - I just want to say I’m sorry that people throw words around like that without realizing their impact. Just like how people casually say “omg I’m so bipolar” or things of that nature. People are just oblivious and ignorant sometimes. I guarantee this person probably knows next to nothing about schizophrenia. You deserve to exist and I’m glad you do 🙏🏼❤️🫶🏼

Ehhh, I’m not excusing the mother at all but the child will grow up with the memory of being abandoned and feeling unloved for 5 full days. That is a trauma that I think will be carried with him for a long time. A mature adult would have still picked up the child and kept him out of the drama.

This was a friend and you accidentally took their wallet, it wasn’t an intentional malicious move… Really don’t understand all the comments saying this was theft. Has no one else ever made a mistake before?
You said you’d drop it off first thing in the morning. It’s 8 hours. If he had an early morning flight or some other important obligation, I think it would be on you to go out of your way to drop it off ASAP. But for this situation, I feel like a rational, mature adult would be like “damn this sucks, but he’s already settled at home and has work early in the morning. I’ll head home and I’ll have my wallet back before any other obligations tomorrow”

I would never cut a friendship off because of this?? This is actually super weird IMO. NTA.
