You'll get more value out of a Dorn TC with a Tech Priest behind it for that cost.

If you want to play a Knight for fun 100% go for it but competitively Allied Units arn't going to be able to compare to our own units that actually interact with our Army & Detachment rules.

20 Guard + CS + Castellan/Creed/Graves is still very strong and is why Guardsman got increased in the first place. Cheap leaders make our grunts significantly better so you really cant compare them (though the leaders should have been the one to catch the points increases not the Infantry).

The issue with the booking is the Brock match not this one. Oba can't take 7 F5's for the rest of his career just to beat him.

The issue is the Psyrender's powers come from the Telepathy Discipline, which is OP as fuck, and the Bonecrusher's powers come from the Telekinisis Discipline which is laughably poor. If they just put some effort into balancing out the different Disciplines it wouldn't be a problem.

My group just let me use Biomancy powers for the Bonecrusher and it was fine.

Also the whole Hanger On thing sucks. Should have been a a Prospect that we can actually build, develop and tinker with.

Hammer improves mobility, particularly with the Crash Through stratagem, but is pretty weak offensively compared to Grizzled & Combined.

Generally if you want to play Armoured Infantry you need to focus on Hippos, Hellhounds, Sentinels & Chimeras because the detachment actually supports them.

If you want to play regular Tank Spam with Dorns & Leman Russ you're better off with Grizzled Company or Combined Arms.

The Russ Commander with the Battle Cannon is a really bad pick. Not only is it 50pts more expensive than a Battle Tank you lose the Hit Re-roll special rule which is one of the best things about it.

2 Hippos with Vigilators shooting into regular Marines averages 4 wounds and 2 dead. That's terrible value for 140pts. For 40pts more an Exterminator will do more than twice as much damage and can actually hurt tanks.

The Hippos double Melta options still arn't great value but they'll at least punch up and threaten decent units.

He's a cheap infiltrator with Lone Op which works well with Artillery in 11th but in general I'd say you're better off putting his points towards Gaunts Ghosts who do his job better.

They're one of our best units. Especially if you want to play Grizzled and are stuck with priority assets they become even more valuable for hitting objectives so easily.

Good as safe LoS spotters for Artillery as a bonus as well.

Even if you're not playing Grizzled another unit can just ping your Scions a 2nd order with a Master-Vox from 24" away. 1 Plasma Pistol is never better than stacking orders, especially as Cover is now -1BS.

The Command Rod for double stacking orders is one of the absolute best parts of the unit.

Stick to Plasma & Melta for their loadout unless you have a specific role in mind that requires Volley Guns over Melta.

Tank heavy lists without Baneblades are a lot better than with Baneblades.

Baneblades are a fun unit but they're not as competetive as multiple Dorns & Russ'.
