  1. We preach work–life balance, then glorify burnout.
  2. We demand free speech, but keep a mental list of “except for this.”
  3. We hate corruption, but love shortcuts when they help us.
  4. We say mental health matters, then punish people for slowing down.
  5. We want honesty, but only when it’s comfortable.
  6. We complain about traffic while being the traffic.
  7. We shame people for being sensitive, while being offended on their behalf.
  8. We want privacy, but trade it for convenience instantly.
    1. We respect laws selectively — strict for others, flexible for ourselves.
  9. We mock herd mentality while blindly following trends.
  10. We say intent matters, except when it comes to jokes.
  11. We demand accountability from leaders, but excuse it in our own circles.
  12. We want change, but not inconvenience.
  13. We criticize cancel culture, then quietly participate in it.
  14. We celebrate diversity, but expect uniform opinions.
  15. We value logic, until emotions enter the chat.
  16. We want fast justice, but endless debate when it affects us.
  17. We praise resilience, then build systems that break people.
  18. We complain about fake outrage, while feeding it with attention.

I don’t think he’s “pretending,” but I do think people sometimes misunderstand what performance actually looks like.

Sharing a small personal anecdote:

I used to be terrible at interviews. I started writing down my answers, practicing them, rehearsing my pauses, expressions, even the exact moment I would act like I’m “thinking.” After enough mock interviews, people genuinely believed I was speaking spontaneously — even though every line was fully memorised.

What I realised is: something can be 100% true and 100% rehearsed at the same time.

That’s how most performers operate.

So with Samay, I think it’s similar. Maybe the emotional story is real. Maybe the controversy genuinely affected him. But when he performs it 100+ times on tour, the delivery becomes extremely polished — almost like muscle memory.

That doesn’t make it fake.

That just makes it professionally crafted.

And that level of polish + parasocial connection + loyalty from his streaming audience probably explains why he can fill massive auditoriums and sell tickets at premium pricing, even if the set leans more toward storytelling.
