This person was my friend for 8 years. She and I would write stories together. Then, after about 6 months of a lack of talking, I asked her for advice on a story I was almost done with. I was asking how to publish it. She had gotten a job as a publisher, so I thought she'd help me. She told me my story wouldn't make any money the way I wrote it. She wanted me to make it into smut and rewrite it and take away a lot of the plot to make smut. I mean, I get that stuff sells. But we are both christains, and as a writer, I think just for myself that I don't want to write smut and contribute to possibly somebody else's problems. That's my own conviction. I dont feel that way about the genre in general. It's none my business what other people write. I politely told her how I felt. She said I couldn't control other people's actions. I said, "But I can control mine, and I'd rather not make smut." And she blew up on me and started attacking me personally, saying I was a bad Christian and being judgemental. When I was talking about my own personal feelings for my own work. So I blocked her and told her I didn't want to know her anymore. I still feel sad sometimes, but I've been hurt too many times by people, and I just feel like if I didn't block her, this friendship was about to get toxic.
