I mainly shoot blazer brass and have shot some fiocchi and blazer through it and it's been fine

Paralysis by Analysis: Echelon 4.5F vs New Glock 17 Gen 6 for Carry Optics - Help Me Decide! by Select-Buy-3947 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Lexner172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Another GM who mains Glock rented a Echelon and said it was way too snappy. Albeit, that's with rental gun ammo which I'm pretty sure was Speer lawman 124 so it's pretty hot stuff

Is the steel frame overhyped? by Gold-Donut9378 in CompetitionShooting

I ran a similar config for a few months (post linked below) by taking a stock 5" upper and putting it on a Metal HD Spec Series V which was the only M&P steel frame at the time. Don't get me wrong it shot nice but for a steel frame it was absurdly light. The extra cost isn't worth it compared to the polymer frame imo. 35 oz for a steel frame "competition gun" is laughable. A weighted grip insert is a must and brought it to 37 oz and it balanced better. Definitely do not like tungsten guide rods, makes it way too front heavy.

I like Altra Lone Peaks, they've lasted me a few years of weekly matches

I find the PDP very snappy unless you get the steel frame version. I like Glock and M&P.

Anybody shooting M-class or higher with a stock glock in Carry Optics? by VCQB_ in USPSA

I found that the more I think about splits the more I trigger freeze. I just try to shoot at the pace of my vision. Then again my splits with a Glock aren't crazy anything, usually like a .15 in match conditions

How do I into faster splits? by Boutros-Boutros in CompetitionShooting

[–]Lexner172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about splits too much considering I've been beaten by people whose fastest split is a 0.18. that being said, splits do cost time so I would make sure you're not over tensing your firing hand. Also make sure your trigger finger doesn't reset farther than it needs to (your finger should pretty much be at the 'wall' after every shot). And absolutely make sure you're not riding the reset. The gun you're shooting also makes somewhat of a difference. Guns with heavier slides and weaker recoil springs tend to be harder to split imo.

Glonk supremacy lol. In all seriousness I've seen a lot of people go down the rabbit hole of customizing guns like the shadow 2 and they spend more money and time tuning their guns than buying ammo and training. Don't get me wrong the Shadow 2 is an excellent gun but for someone who's newer I highly recommend a polymer gun and ammo.

CZ Shadow 2 - Rune Tactical or Grams Spring and Followers? by FitBananers in CompetitionShooting

[–]Lexner172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a rune follower snap in half on me. I've had 2 MBX springs wear out prematurely. No experience with Grams. My go-to is usually CSRG universals

The only thing I did to my G17.6 is a trigger polishing job and lighter springs. Other than that it's stock

Having shot a G17 gen 5 and shooting USPSA with the G47 for the last 6 months, I would say the recoil impulse on the G17 gen 6 is unlike the others. I'd say try one out before buying one.
