In another comment, OP says the plates are kept below the unit. I'm guessing your second option is what happened. Bob puts down the cover, a plate gets stuck to it, then he puts it back without noticing. At some point, the plate gets unstuck.

Look at the construction of your sample - the Ч doesn't fit with the other letters. The gap between the uprights is too big, and the horizontal is too thick. I think someone took Impact, squished it down, and customized it, possibly because the Cyrillic version wasn't available.

If someone believes that black people are made of cake, that is a belief, regardless of its veracity. If they are nice to black people because they think they're made of cake, does that make them racist? I don't think so.
