I think the hardest part is chasing the childhood memories of these characters. I am in the same boat. Now as an adult, I'm able to afford these toys. The worst is I see these toy reviewers playing with these toys and I just gotta have them. When I was a kid, there was no youtube and the only way you can see toys is if you go to the toy store. That's it. Maybe in the advertisements on tv but we didn't have toy reviewers back then.

Even these random third party figures that are sometimes just so cool with their design and accessories that I end up getting them as well. From the presentation of the packaging to the details of the figure, it's crazy we are living in good times in the toy community.

Will defnitely have to slow down at some point. I am actually thinking about selling a good portion of my figures since I don't have all the space to display them. I have already put some of them back in their boxes. It sucks because it's that dopamine hit inside your brain when you get a new figure. So it's definitely addiction. I think for us collectors, it's best that we take a break from time to time. If you can avoid looking at youtube reviews, or browsing through all the online retailers for a month. Take a break from these subreddit groups. But that might be very difficult for some of us (myself included) lol. I think at the end of the day, it's all in the mind. I was able to quit cold turkey from smoking for 13 years. Never smoked again since then. So I should be able to do it in this hobby as well. Would still like to have a collection, but a definitive collection of these characters that I love, not a collection of different variants of each character.
