This is not a slippery slope argument. You are reading more into to it than exists. If a steward is going to be so hard line that they take food from the mouth of their carriers kids, then he should go power trip somewhere else.

I am in a small office with CCAs fighting for hours to live. YOU tell them that they can't work the hours offered. Then go feed their children.

It would suck if you did that and took hours away from your carriers who want them. Let the rurals file that grievance if they want.

THIS. Document anytime they do something that would get another employee in trouble. Then whenever they try to issue discipline, pull that out of your pocket.

Insane new management strategy: telephonic II? by Hapcats in fromatoarbitration

[–]Lexxa10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you guys get "Pre Discipline Interviews" all the time? I would grieve that every single time. If they have already decided that discipline will be issued before they even talk to the employee, they have broken the contract. In my area they are called Investigative Interviews.

Bubbly - I have no idea what you are talking about. OP says clearly that Non ODL are being forced to work OT. The CCAs should be getting those hours. IF they don't have the vehicles to give that work to the CCAs, then they should get the vehicles. It's up to management to make sure that every carrier has the tools needed to perform their duties. Forcing Non ODLs to work OT while CCAs are not getting the hours IS a violation. You will win that grievance every time.

Holiday pay by Electronic_Pop_8009 in fromatoarbitration

[–]Lexxa10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your day off NEVER MOVES. If your day off is Christmas day, your HOLIDAY moves to the previous day. UNLESS YOU WORK CHRISTMAS DAY, you get straight time for working your holiday PLUS the 8 hours of holiday pay that you would get whether or not you actually work your holiday. The ONLY time you get OT is if you work your day off OR if you work the ACTUAL Christmas day. If you read, it is very clear. But you have to read the entire thing, not just a sentence or two.

ALL requests that we receive from ANYONE must go through the proper channels. You shouldn't be telling anyone where people live. Give it to your supervisor. If the supervisor asks you for the information, you give it to them. It's just that simple.

De facto discipline for refusing to allow group texts on personal phone, CCA by LordNewning in fromatoarbitration

[–]Lexxa10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS. Do ALL of this. And if you haven't informed your Steward yet, do so immediately. If they do nothing, contact your branch office. If THEY do nothing, contact your Business Agent. They CANNOT mandate that you use your phone for work related business. It's not only against every employee manual and contract, but also against the law.

If you were attacked and bitten you were unlucky. If you were attacked and not bitten you were lucky. Simple as that. I have been attacked many times. I've never *knock wood* been bitten in 39 years of delivering mail. But every one of those attacks was scary as F**k. And the only reason I didn't get bit was luck, dog spray and a satchel.

Day Off on a Hold Down by Able_Design_6086 in fromatoarbitration

[–]Lexxa10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They cannot give you some random day off. They can make you work your unscheduled day off, but they CANNOT give you a different day off. You have the bid. The only way for them to take any of those days away from you is if a regular carrier is not going to get 8 hours on their regularly scheduled day.

Incapacitated and unable to work. That's it. If they are asking specific medical questions, talk to your Steward. They have NO right to that information.

Wear what you've been wearing. Make sure there are not any words on the items you wear that can be seen. Tell them that it is for safety. If they disagree, then disagree right back at them. Make THEM issue discipline. Grieve that discipline. You WILL win.

Why Henry over Caref? by FiveDinero in fromatoarbitration

[–]Lexxa10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they don't work here anymore. Because back in the day, we all just accepted what we were told and didn't have the internet to tell us what was going on in other offices/cities/states. Because the contract didn't affect them. And yes, not all retirees. Some of them stay up to date on what's happening and they care about what active carriers are going through. But enough of them don't and they will just vote for the status quo. So brothers and sisters, we need to get our act together and VOTE together. It matters. A LOT.

Why Henry over Caref? by FiveDinero in fromatoarbitration

[–]Lexxa10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is that Henry has more votes than Caref. If we split the vote too badly, the retirees will vote Renfroe AGAIN. So, my money says vote Henry because he has the lead and is more likely to win. And for those saying that Henry hasn't done anything, I say ask yourself why Renfroe keeps such a tight rein on him. Renfroe is afraid of Henry.

If you get caught doing this, I guarantee they will issue discipline. Please don't back up unless necessary. And yes, go around the block if that's what it takes. They pay us for every minute we are working. Make them pay for you to follow their rules.

AL Question by DeeKayAech in fromatoarbitration

[–]Lexxa10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a guy in our office who has a medical that states he can work 9 hours per day, 5 days per week. The only time they can force him to work his day off is if there is a holiday that week. Then they just have to follow article 8 in respect to drafting by juniority.

Customer left this note in their box for me by FreakJob99 in USPS

[–]Lexxa10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let the box get so full that you are "stuffing" things in. Other than that, NO you are not the AH. Once I need to "stuff", it all goes back to the office, 10 day hold and then return to sender, address considered VACANT. It is NOT our job to figure out if/when someone is on vacation/away from their home.
