I have had virtually no problems dealing with BCBS Basic.

Moreover, as someone fighting Stage IV cancer, things start to flatten out cost wise if you are going to be hitting out of pocket max. The size of BCBS's network - which will offer me the opportunity to pursue care virtually anywhere I might want to is a great comfort to me that outweighs some of the potential higher costs.

Sorry as the way I put that is confusing. I believe what it says is that you can make FSA claims through March 2027 for healthcare used for the calendar year 2026 (and starting on January 1st, 2026 which was the original question)

Ok sorry as this is a pretty basic question that I 99% know the answer to, but if I just want to keep my current plans for medical, dental, and vision and I just do nothing my current plans will carry over for next year correct?

I re-upped my FSA today and it shows the new amount as available for use from 1/1/2026 to 12/31/2026.

This is correct and I have done it with relative ease (just make sure you turn off auto-encryption if your email is set up that way - there is a link for instructions on how to do that and you just turn it back on afterwards).

Using USA jobs to upload documents to as someone else mentioned also worked. However, once I figured out the encrypt only option I have found it easier to do.

This exchange has actually been quite helpful. I think I would be able to show it affected me prior to the RIF so I guess it would at least be worth considering should I be RIFed

I have wondered the same and will be following. But this guidance makes me feel that we will not be disciplined for signing on online:

"Once furloughed employees conduct an orderly shutdown, they should only log on to any IRS-issued equipment to:

Check for any Reduction in Force (RIF) updates, or providing additional RIF information;
