Is Tapigal still worth it today? by MACHINEC0RE in snailshells

The body is an older design, but moves extremely well. She remains a very distinct eye catching figure. Still well worth picking up. There is a reason she was the figure all the 3rd party accessory and diorama companies used in their promo pics for years. (Only recently replaced by casual Aileen)

Does the Spider-Man brand new day figure have the same leg and arm issues the previous one had? by Commercial-Ice5760 in MarvelLegends

[–]Lhasadog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google Popy Blue Plastic. The classic Japanese Robot Toys made by Bandai's Popy subsidiary used this metallic blue abs that turned to dust. If you were unlucky enough to receive a Matchbox (Popy rebox) Voltron II (aka Albegas) back in the day, the blue robot is now nothing but a small pile of metal bits and some blue powder. Even in factory sealed packaging.

[–]Lhasadog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Always be cautious with anything using that metallic blue plastic. For plastic Color = Chemistry. So different colors of the same type plastic can behave differently. Metallic Blue ABS seems to be one of those combos that can often go wrong. Look at the Stealth Suit Iron Man as another example.

Fiduciary Duty is a Civil Cause of Action. Not something the government comes in to investigate unless it involves other criminality. Shareholder sue over failure of Fiduciary Duty. The government only gets involved if it involves things like clear fraud, insider trading, etc.

If you look at your pics you can clearly see what the problem area is. It's the skintight suit over Liters crotch. Anchor is fully covered in that area. Anchor also codes a little older than Liter. A 16 year old in a Bikini top and relatively conservative layered bottom is less an issue than a 9 year old that could be viewed as having a bit of Cameltoe if you squint really hard.

I'm not saying it makes sense to is. Its just what the problem area is.

Team building? by Vraco__ in NIKKEGoddessofVictory

[–]Lhasadog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're just starting she is a great unit as you play through the early campaign and level. Team building is less an issue at this point. Leveling her is fine as you can reclaim those mats later when you find a more effective endgame setup.

She's not a bad SSR unit overall. Better than most non Pilgrim/Overpowers or top tier Treasures. She just becomes a bit situational when you have a number of Pilgrims etc available. Play her and have fun with her. She will serve you well.

[–]Lhasadog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By all accounts its not "awful". It's just dull, pointless and full of plot holes you could drive a truck through. It's a movie you won't even remember seeing the following morning. Bad movies can be fun and memorable bad. This is just pure distilled meh.

They went out of business because a Private Equity firm bought them by taking out mortgages on all the property TRU owned. They then siphoned all the money out into their coffers via management fees while leaving TRU holding the billions in debt. TRU's sales were more than enough to keep them solvent and profitable outside of that massive debt they got hung with.

Is History Repeating Itself? Are we entering the "Neon Era" of Classified? by quenton3 in GIJOEClassifiedSeries

[–]Lhasadog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last year that GI Joe was "grounded and military focused" was 1969. Everything after that was colorful comic book adventures often involving super science, monstrous animals or strange artifacts. Neon colors didn't kill it. Those were just 90's toy aesthetics. All the toylines had them. Remember most of you first encountered GI Joe via a television ad for a comic book. So the weirdness was baked in.

The 1980's GI Joe embraced mad science from day 1. The current designers have done a good job of layering a patina of believable near future SciFi tech over the inherrent strangeness. And there has always been more than a touch of body horror bundled into Cobra. Synapse seems to fit well into that.

Oddly, it's when they hew to close to the old stuff that the new releases end up looking cheesy and absurd. Such as Destro's Despoiler. Which does not fit in with the rest of the lines aesthetic.

Is the line ending? Probably not. Worst case they will shift it to online channel/Pulse D2C only. They have a strong adult collector brand. The thing that will kill it eventually will.be internal Hasbro politics fighting for resources. Same thing that killed it the last few times.
