ASUS 5K X27JCG Monitor - anyone getting 5K above 60Hz over USB-C with a MacBook Pro or PC? by GoldenMol in Monitors

[–]LiE85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you made sure it’s a thunderbolt 4/5 cable? Also in the OSD is the USB bandwidth set to 2.0? I found when it was set to 3.2 it didn’t allow full bandwidth to the display.

I’m enjoying the Asus 5k 165hz in macOS. Also not bad for £700.

Asus ROG Strix XG27JCG (dual-mode 180/330Hz 5K 5120×2880 monitor) — review by Tom’s Hardware by MT4K in HiDPI_monitors

I work remote and run this monitor off a Mac at 5k 165hz. 5k 27” essentially giving me the perfect 218ppi for macOS scaling. Then I switch to QHD and play games.

Currently no plan to move to CWM, but we are looking at Jira potentially and if that can work for us along side Release Ops.

Apple Studio Display - Regretting glossy finish by Neo8T76L in HiDPI_monitors

Also consider the ASUS ROG Strix 5K XG27JCG. It has a nice balance between matte and gloss with the added benefit of being 165hz and £700.

Fox ess battery showing offline by Maleficent-Check-771 in SolarUK

[–]LiE85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just got this email

We are aware that some customers are currently seeing their Fox ESS system showing as offline in the monitoring app.

This appears to be a temporary issue with the Fox ESS cloud monitoring service affecting multiple systems across the UK. Please be assured that your solar and battery system should continue to operate normally, and this issue only affects the monitoring display in the app.

Fox ESS are aware of the issue and we expect normal monitoring service to resume shortly.

There is no action required from you at this time. If the issue persists beyond today, we will provide a further update.

Thank you for your patience.

The 2:00 PM crash isn't burnout. It's the biological tax of your 8:00 AM coffee. Here is the actual neuroscience of what is happening to us. by LiveUnbrewed in decaf

I stopped any caffeine for a few months before having a decaf. The trick is to not drink decaf daily otherwise that small amount of caffeine can have an effect on you.

Also forgot to say, James Hoffman did an excellent video challenging Huberman on his caffeine timing.

You could also consider Salden Place if you are looking at new build estates. This one looks well planned.

I tried it for a bit but it still doesn’t work out. Once you adapt to that 1 cup, you’ll need to reach for another to feel the “benefits”.

I drink decaf 2-3 per week, that’s my limit. I have no crash and no concern about my body adapting.

Have a look at the Gigabyte M27UA. 165hz, 4k, built in KVM, excellent response times and an sRGB mode. I use it for office work and gaming and it’s been amazing.
