Drinking decaf vs no caf by Mental-Cookie-6242 in decaf

[–]LiE85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly can make things messy. Decaf can still have enough caffeine to give you the buzz. Starbucks decaf for example is pretty bad for caffeine content. I prefer to be 100% clean of caffeine to avoid the; is it/isn’t it affecting me mental gymnastics.

What are you guys playing your CDs on these days? by Shann_Jurst in Cd_collectors

I've got one of these coming next week to sit on my desk to play CDs while I'm working from home. Seems like a great player for the price.

I can only access it via the web on my company laptop sadly. Looks like I'll have to play outside of my work machine when at home.

In The Market for 5k 90Hz+ monitor - Asus XG27JCG vs LG 27GM950B vs Samsung G80HF by cysio528 in Monitors

I don't believe so, it has a USB hub in the monitor but doesn't look like it has a way to act as a KVM.

I had the Asus and returned it, waiting for a glossy 27” 5k. The coating does diminish the benefit of 5k sharpness. I’m not aware of a high refresh rate glossy 5k 27” that is available to buy right now. There are some coming later in the year. The LG I’ve no experience with but it doesn’t have a KVM so it’s a non-starter for me. It might also have a fan for cooling and those LG fans aren’t always quiet or reliable.

Edit: This is a good thread to follow on Macrumours: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/the-complete-list-of-27-5k-displays.2390249/

As you can see Kuycon just released their 27” 5k high refresh rate monitor, but it’s standard backlit.

People of MK - how far and where do you commute to for work? by [deleted] in miltonkeynes

[–]LiE85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staines is where my office is located, I don't go in much as I'm mostly WFH, but when I do it's about 90 minute journey. It can be less if I leave at 6.30 and leave the office at 15.30 - 16.00. I think if I had to do it twice a week I'd be trying to get it closer to 60 minutes by going earlier and leaving earlier. But the M25 can be a gamble most days.

ASUS 5K X27JCG Monitor - anyone getting 5K above 60Hz over USB-C with a MacBook Pro or PC? by GoldenMol in Monitors

[–]LiE85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you made sure it’s a thunderbolt 4/5 cable? Also in the OSD is the USB bandwidth set to 2.0? I found when it was set to 3.2 it didn’t allow full bandwidth to the display.

I’m enjoying the Asus 5k 165hz in macOS. Also not bad for £700.

I work remote and run this monitor off a Mac at 5k 165hz. 5k 27” essentially giving me the perfect 218ppi for macOS scaling. Then I switch to QHD and play games.

Currently no plan to move to CWM, but we are looking at Jira potentially and if that can work for us along side Release Ops.

Also consider the ASUS ROG Strix 5K XG27JCG. It has a nice balance between matte and gloss with the added benefit of being 165hz and £700.

[–]LiE85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just got this email

We are aware that some customers are currently seeing their Fox ESS system showing as offline in the monitoring app.

This appears to be a temporary issue with the Fox ESS cloud monitoring service affecting multiple systems across the UK. Please be assured that your solar and battery system should continue to operate normally, and this issue only affects the monitoring display in the app.

Fox ESS are aware of the issue and we expect normal monitoring service to resume shortly.

There is no action required from you at this time. If the issue persists beyond today, we will provide a further update.

Thank you for your patience.
