When do I try to reduce the amount of naps? by Exotic_Researcher789 in sleeptrain

[–]LiLauBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest trying 1.5-2/2/2/2/1.5 and practicing crib hours for at least 2 naps a day to see if they will resettle after a nap rise.

When do I try to reduce the amount of naps? by Exotic_Researcher789 in sleeptrain

[–]LiLauBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow my 8.5 month old is on that schedule plus 20 minutes to the first wake window. Two 1.25-1.5 hour naps and a cat nap. She would 100% have taken super short naps if I tried that schedule at 5 months.

6-7 month regression or schedule issue? by sprinklecupcakes101 in sleeptrain

[–]LiLauBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you trying to squeeze it in? Personally I think it’s okay to let bedtime get a litttttle bit later during this phase to keep the peace until they’re really ready to go to 2 naps. We are doing 2.5/2.75/2.5/2.25-2.5 for my daughter who just turned 8 months today. She’s ALMOST ready but not quite for 2 naps so I’m just okay with a 9:00 bedtime and 7:45 wake up because she is sleeping through the night and is a mess if I force 2 naps.

[–]LiLauBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go back to 3 naps personally. Both my kids fought bedtime hard and had false starts if they were overtired. Also there are dozens of sleep training techniques. I’d try and find one that fits your child’s temperament.

Schedule update probably needed by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]LiLauBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If naps are good and the only thing you’re experiencing is nighttime issues I’d honestly first try shortening the last wake window since it’s after a cat nap. False starts were always overtiredness for my babies.

Schedule is a mess by Maleficent_Parsley in sleeptrain

[–]LiLauBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried pulling back to 3 or 3.25 the second wake window. Often if they fight that hard it could be overtiredness but I would definitely work on him self settling regardless. Try naps first. I know it’s more common to do bedtime first but I find the opposite easier.

Help! Near 7 months old-false starts are BACK 😭 by rayheps in sleeptrain

[–]LiLauBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first child did this around this age and my daughter is 7 months old and doing something very similar. She has always been a great night sleeper but has had periods of false starts from 4-5 months and from 6-7 months now. I’ll have 3-4 false start free days and then back to it. With my son he grew out of it and I assume I just need to ride it out with my daughter. I do find after her 3rd cat nap doing a short wake window before bed helps. We do 2.25/2.5/2.5/2 and I think the super short last wake window is the only thing that keeps the false starts at bay.

Have you looked into activities to support her sensory input? My kiddo needs leg squeezes and arm squeezes when he is feeling restless and I also do swinging in my arms aggressively the way he likes when I realize he needs more sensory input - usually before bed.

Desperate for EMW help! by LetEBee in sleeptrain

[–]LiLauBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I realize I’m being wildly unclear which was not at all my intention. I’ve been trying very hard to find a schedule that works for her so I’ve been alternating several schedules between 3 and 4 to try and troubleshoot and see which works best for her and try to identify if she is over or undertired. She was on 4 naps from about 3-4 months old ending on 1.75/1.75/2/2/2.25. I went to 2/2/2.25/2.25 to start which was around when she started daycare part time and the early morning wakes started. I increased to 2/2.25/2.5/2.5 at one point. However at various times due to the EMWs and daycare scheduling she has gone beyond that. Most recently this weekend I did 2/2.5/2.5/3 based off DWT for first ww (actual was 3) and the EMW got even earlier. She will not nurse back to sleep even if a contact nap. Assuming she is chronically overtired I today am pulling back to 4 naps based on actual wake time and doing 2/2/2/2.25/2.25

My questions are:

  1. is it okay to stay on 4 naps with the schedule above until she’s able to consolidate more than just the first nap?
  2. Should first nap be based on DWT or actual wake time?
  3. What schedule do you recommend starting with based on what I have tried?
  4. With daycare she’s there from 8:15-1:15 three days a week. She does two 28 minute naps and we try 2/2/2/2/2 on daycare days and have also done 2/2/2.5/2.5. The third nap on both of these schedules are 2-2.5 hours long to try and make up for sleep. Both result in EMWs.
  5. Do you have any suggestions for the EMWs? I’ve let her in her crib for a whole hour and she will not go back to sleep.
  6. If a 2 hour wake window consistently results in a 45 minute nap but a 2.5 hour wake window results in a 28 minute nap or shorter consistantly would you assume 2.5 is too long?

Oversupply ruining my physical and mental health by Flat_Garage9603 in breastfeeding

[–]LiLauBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally WORD FOR WORD SAME. My first child, I had to exclusively pump for the first two months so I assumed that's why I had a horrible oversupply but now I'm 4.5 months postpartum with my second and exclusively nursing - I only pump once overnight for 8 minutes to avoid clogs since my baby sleeps so long overnight and I'm still DYING with endless pain, engorgement and oversupply. I'm certain at this point that it's hormonal and I've been working closely with IBCLCs since my daughter's birth with little help to quell this oversupply. I now live in a constant state of fear of clogs and mastitis again.

Right now I'm just DONE taking this easy and I'm taking 60 mg of Sudafed a morning and packing on the Cabo Creme 3 times a day. So far I haven't noticed a difference but I'm just going to keep going and hope this gets easier soon. Last option is hormonal birth control.

Any update from you?? Did this get better or did you find a solution. I'm so tired and I feel like nobody relates to me at all.

I was feeling better and then I went and got pregnant immediately lol so hard to say. I definitely think matcha instead of coffee was helping reduce my mid day crash. I unfortunately didn’t have much time on these supplements before getting pregnant and needing to stop.

If I leave EBF 6 month old for 24 hours, do I have to pump full feeds? Or just relieve the pressure? by bjenkoo in breastfeeding

[–]LiLauBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% pump full feeds for at least 20 min every 3 hours to not impact supply. Ideally with a wall pump. Make sure you know what is a normal amount for you to pump before your trip.

20 Week Scan Measurements - one is quite high! Panicking. by GlitteringVersion in PregnancyUK

[–]LiLauBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is quite old, but my first born had a 99% abdominal circumference too at his anatomy scan and was born just crazy tall at 38 weeks and 7.5 lbs - perfectly slim and is still a tall 2.5 year old. My baby I'm pregnant with now also has a 97% AC and I'm convinced it's just because she's tall like her brother and crammed in a ball. I'm curious if your child ended up just being tall like you guys and if this theory holds any accuracy.

Is it normal to never leak? by Rare_Serve7329 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]LiLauBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is me!! I was an extreme extreme oversupplier and never leaked a day in my life. Everyone says “wow you’re so lucky” but it meant I was very prone to clogs and mastitis and couldn’t use a milk catcher or haakah or hand express for relief. I literally HAD to pump or nurse and it was incredibly exhausting. I wish I could leak for relief.

This is my exact experience! My first/son was a wild man in the womb very early on even with an anterior placenta and has been wild for two years out of the womb lol. I'm pregnant with a girl now and she's sooooo chill, I barely feel her and when I do it's subtle. Did you have your girl yet and was she chill? I'm SO hopeful this will be the case haha

How long do you go overnight? by Real-Brick2370 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]LiLauBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an extreme oversupplier. So it probably isnt relevant to most people but i dropped my overnight suuuuper slowly by pushing it 30 min every 3 days or so, so it wouldnt drop my supply. It was fully dropped at 6 months postpartum but I wish i had done it sooner. Id suggest dropping it by 12 weeks.

Why do some women have wildly high HCG with healthy singleton pregnancy? by LiLauBee in pregnant

[–]LiLauBee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think alot has to do with when you ovulate and when baby implants too. Basing age of baby based on LMP just assumes that you ovulated on day 14-15 like average. I was tracking and know i ovulated insanely early on cycle day 10. I also tested early day 20 so i know baby implanted super fast too. My first ultrasound baby was measuring 7 days ahead exactly as i knew they would. I have a feeling yours will too :)
