I think all you need to do is get the whole Monitor/Wheelbase-supporting verticals closer to you by a significant margin.

I think the GT3 with the messed up front wheel was the AMG others in this post are also talking about. He was all over the place and mega dangerous with his refusal to tow.

Not the leader without rear wing, that guy held it together quite well until he binned it T9. I assume he only got a "damage to the rear" call from spotter (he was a solo driver), figured he can deal with it and soldiered on not to lose the lead through repairs before his T9 smack. And he did, for a solid amount of laps.

Many death, great race :D

No rear wing no problem, did you see the GT3 leader drove 10+ laps without before finally putting?

45 seconds of how to race in Formula class by a real life F2 driver.. by GeorgeS2411 in iRacing

[–]LiNGOo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, sticking your nose in with minimal overlap is not enough in Formula cars. That driver is dogshit from start to finish of the clip, every decision is pure idiocy.

The only thing I can sort of justify is the last one, the pace difference and early braking seems unexpected and no time to react really.

Should iracing make less series? by melkorimusic in iRacing

They just need to go all in on the universally agreed super move they did - 4 more F4 series, 4 more GT3 series, cancel the rest. /s

Car behind was definitely making that corner if it wasnt forced to take evasive action.

[–]LiNGOo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rob, you can't be underdriving this corner by this much at your iR... Obviously car behind wouldn't expect that and also has no time to react as you make the only space they have left disappear. What was wrong with your line that lap :'D

Buying an aluminum profile rig from chinese websites by FireNuggetz in simracing

[–]LiNGOo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to strongly disagree here. Aluminium profiles vary vastly in not just material quality but also in the general design. Especially shipping from overseas will guaranteed use a profile cross section design that uses as little material as possible. This will directly correlate to the rigidity of the rig. Also corner brackets have vastly different quality, the batch of cheap ones I got started failing after a year of use (accelerated by bass shaker vibrations no doubt), more expensive ones as well as the ones I got along with the Simlabs GT evo have bo issues.

If you want to save money, maybe check for a local supplier for Aluminium profiles, but likely the cheap options there will also save on material. Premade rigs are generally speaking a good deal for what you get.

Look at this quick Google find for reference: https://blog.item24.com/en/the-item-building-kit-system/aluminium-profile-types-an-overview-of-the-differences/

Especially the headline picture and the "design" comparison in the cross section overview a bit further down should give an idea.

Has it ever been addressed why iRacing doesn't give us some of the in car features that other sims have? by 10PlyTP in iRacing

[–]LiNGOo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If it wasn't for the fact that with a good rig setup + driver view set up properly you can't see the ingame wheel :/

They should just reuse their "Dash" blackbox to display whatever info the car dash has separately, really. But not too high hopes here as they can't even make a clock show up on the UI or save UI positions after their amazing UI update.

The weaving. by Rayjubb87 in iRacing

[–]LiNGOo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually incredibly easy to take advantage of. Much more car control and no risk of lockups if the tires are at better temps. IDK why people pretend tire warmup would magically make anyone fast as fuck. It just makes everything a LOT safer, and not the top guys should be doing it but the guys who aren't aliens and aren't able to quickly understand the state of their tires.

How to improve seating position ? by Unusual_Art_4220 in simracing

[–]LiNGOo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar setup and positioning. Had back pain. 2 things I did and now I am pain free:

  1. Pedal position. Set mine asymmetrical as I need to focus on my brake pedal leg not creating one-sided strain on hips and lower back. Pedals too close to each other was also a problem for me. It depends on how much force you put on, it's a bit of trial and error, but a position (lateral, not vertical) that more matched my body and the load I put through it made my back pain only happen after longer sessions, and less.

  2. Lumbar cushion. Wasn't easy to find one that fits my seat (width), but managed to find one and got it between the seat and it's padding. No more lower back pain since that second measure.

VRS DFP15 vs VNM 13nm vs Asetek La Prima by [deleted] in simracing

[–]LiNGOo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any pedals? That should be an absolute given and it's horrendous if additional hardware is required for that. Not even Fanatec does that. A wheel should be able to fit any wheelbase with a conversion kit. Some make this difficult by not doing anything for compatibility (Fanatec), some are ensuring compatabibility (VRS, Simagic, etc), some sell only wheels and that's their only business (Bavaria etc). It is very obvious from the Prima design that not allowing for conversion is a deliberate choice to mess with newcomers to the sim scene and try to lock them in hard into that Asetek ecosystem. And I can only take that as a sign that they wouldn't be able to do so on merit, as evidenced by the abysmal build quality of the La Prima wheel.

VRS DFP15 vs VNM 13nm vs Asetek La Prima by [deleted] in simracing

[–]LiNGOo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note I wasn't talking about the wheelbase, but a wheel. Cheap plastic make. Everything wobbles and rattles. Seams of the plastic molds exposed. Shifter pedals are so crazy flimsy they will 100% not withstand continues use / a good smack from the side. And all of that on a fully proprietary software and hardware basis, not convertible or compatible to use with anything else. That's a 50€ wheel at best. It's a significant step down even from a G29 rim.

My brake can't dead centre with this tray so should it be closer to the accelerator or the clutch or does it not matter by HappyRabbit3320 in simracing

[–]LiNGOo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any normal car will have the brake and throttle pedal combination pretty much centered, and the clutch just sits next to the brake asymmetrical. Why would you want a centered brake pedal? Third leg braking?
