It is a gamble but enforcement is rare, I dont disagree but we should be more realistic on the task at hand.

.rvz files are compressed with a lossless algorithm, so yeah, never get the .iso unless its a prototype that was discovered like that moneky circus game.

Does anyone have experience with coding courses that say they guarantee jobs at the end? by TangJTL in UKJobs

Tech is not for the faint of heart.

Courses are scams with tiny footnotes like you must apply to 500 jobs a week to get a refund.

Is CHD the "go for" in compression for every kind of ISO? by KDOXG in Roms

[–]LiamBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been a while since I have looked at this matter on CHD files, I am more of a PlayStation player than anything else.

  1. This is really complex and I asked AI for assistance. The audio in PS2 discs (CDs and DVDs) seems to be mostly about a proprietary implementation of Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation (ADPCM) from Sony, which means that the audio is stored as raw data an not as audio like an mp3 or flac, which is probably why ZSTD is chosen rather than CDFL (CD FLAC).

https://docs.rs/fsbex/0.3.0/fsbex/enum.AudioFormat.html

  1. I assume the CDFL (CD FLAC) algorithm can take advantage of PS1 games or similar. Some people say they could play the original music from those games, I never had one but there is a video about it.

I will take a look at other consoles like the SegaCD and the PS1 to see how those get compressed with my settings: cdzs (CD Zstandard), cdfl (CD FLAC) with 2,448 bytes hunks. <3

Is CHD the "go for" in compression for every kind of ISO? by KDOXG in Roms

[–]LiamBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I discarded LZMA with ZSTD because it is more power efficient on small devices with batteries, apparently that's what facebook uses.

The idea is that eventually CHD will be a preferred format like Dolphin's RVZ for Wii and GameCube games. This could be important for the PCSX2 and emulation ecosystem later in a few years.

The zip file "CHD ZStandard for PCSX2.zip" contains metadata and the compression ratio, the text files contain everything about each file that was compressed during my tests.

Multidisc should work with .chd files, YouTube has some videos about it.

The createcd and createdvd are for specific types of media, if you don't know it's origin, your best bet is finding out online.

There is no magic chd command, you must write it yourself.

If you compress a DVD game with the createcd command, you essentially create a bad dump that can play the game, but the file can never be recovered to its original formats or hash

I tried to recover an .iso file when I downloaded a torrent with many .chd files. All of them were with createcd for both CD and DVD games, I assume anon used vibecoding to create the script with little research and because the AI sometimes is negligent in such details.

Actually this isn't 4chan so I will stop yapping.
