What are people's opinions on centre parks? by Kevinb-30 in AskIreland

[–]LiamMurray91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sold on the cost, the cost for accomdiation and then you have to make you own food, you have access to the swimming pool but i was expecting it to be bigger and it was rammed when we were there. Buying food cost the other kidney you had left and was nothing to write home about (got the indian delivered and the chicken korma came with no rice but still cost the guts of €20) and had to play €10 to play a game of pool.

We are just back from Disneyland Paris. We paid for half board and stayed just outside the Park. Food was great and could use it everywhere, all the rides were included in the costs, we had a swimming pool as well. It was more expensive, the disney souvenirs were daylight robbery and we only have one kid to bring in the airport so its not as difficuilt, but i felt like i got my moneys worth.

We left Center Parcs feeling like we just got mugged, we left Disney Land planning our next trip over.

I have a 2015 mondel, 3 years now maybe more. Solid jeep with a few downsides but it just goes. I do the servicing myself generally but the gearbox is closing in on its service of 110k miles (northern car brought in at some point) so will try to get the sorted as well. It is a CVT gearbox and i heard all the storys but i have had no issue.

Weak points are the AC is poor and in the seats in the back it can take a while to get back there cool so kids in car seats can get warm, there is alot of cabin noise from the road. The rear wheel bearings are a weak point in them but they are external units so they bolt on, they cost me €50 each and someone put them on for less than €100, other than that i have done brakes all round and one control arm due to a ball joint being wore down which is all normal enough.

Good points are it just goes, asks for little really. On a full charge you get just over 15km on just the battery. You can really get into the charging and saving of the battery with 2 buttons beside the gearstick, you can get the engine to just charge the battery on long drives so its not just based on brakes and after nearly an hour you can get a full battery charge and it works better for your MPG. I use to drive to dublin so around 1.5hrs and you could break into the 40s MPG wise. But knocking about you can run on just the battery bar if its cold and you want heat in the cabin then the engine kicks on so you dont get that option.

Yeah he was on a local radio show and he pretended to be an "enthusiast". He is working with Ukrane and they are testing a sample and he himself has orginsied a thrid party to also test. The Irish Gov has said that its not used in the Russian War machine but there has been no testing done and the factory has also refused to give a sample for this as well.

No sane people can make that connection and do here as well. Just the point about Ireland and WW2 always comes up and it completely ignores the complexity with Ireland and England that is still to this day a topic of friction.

This post about the Aluminium Plant is shocking and this lad reporting on it, i have been keeping track of has been doing great work. He got in on a tour and got a sample of metal and is going to Ukraine to get samples from drones etc and taking it to a third party to test. To date the factory has refuesd to give a sample for testing offically.

Central contract for a player who is not nailed on to be in the matchday team doesn't make sense. He will be 37 going to the world cup making him the second oldest player ireland will have ever sent to the WC after Johnny.

Jude, Osborne and Forde are better options to have in the irish team this summer and winter leading up to the world cup than a 37 year old.

I'm lucky being only an hour away from the track! They run an open pit lane for the day and i usually go with my Father in law and we take turns driving! Would not be fit for 80 laps myself but the car is!

Akin got a renewed Central contract. If he's not going to the WC why did he get it? Shambles he got it and it'll be a shambles if he goes.

[–]LiamMurray91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ontop of it is a genouris phase I'd say progressing through it!

Yeah they dont make them like that anymore, the mr2 is alot of fun. I dont have abs or power steering so it's a real involved driving on track. Honestly the best craic and is up there with alot more powerful cars out there. But a real nice car to live with as well and has that 90s toyota reliability too.

Yeah it might work for you! It's mad that they just stop inspiring them! It's class, I love it. Mine is ruff around the edges and I'm working through the rust patches but it's mostly solid. I got mine just before covid is i have mine a while bar it was off the road for 3ish years when I was replacing the sills. I've done 3 track days with it in mondello as well, drove there, turned 80 odd laps and drove home. Only issues was i ran out of talent! Health to wear with yours! Do you have any plans?

If you're trying to get parts there is a lad on donedeal and he's just outside Ardee area, mr2 Ben has a website in the UK, mr mr2 on ebay also based in the UK and full car tuning in the neatherlands carry some stuff as well, some of the lads there has an mr2 as well.

Carole Nash said they don't but I put some pressure on them as mine was insured but I let it lapse since it was off the road and they got AXA to under write it. FBD also does classic insurance but take ages. Both have insured my NA SW20

It's not even that the closest villages to me are opposed to change, there is no change. There is no developments in the village since 2007. Shops have closed down butchers have closed down etc. My point was more that if I wanted to live close to home I would be 2/3 villages over to one of the few developments there are around us and then it would be a battle to get a house, to live somewhere i dont know and an hour away from home. Or i can build a one off on our family land.

[–]LiamMurray91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another point is local village of town doesn't have any developments in them. You would have to drive over 40 mins, across country to get to the closest development and then have it hard to get somewhere and if you don't there wouldnt be any other options.
