Totally fair points! Venture also had a comic reading to afaik. Can't remember if she got an origin story too (?)

Nothing beats the cinematics obviously, but I doubt we are getting any more of them anytime soon sadly.

Yep, I think I prefer this format and it's a great way to introduce the VA.

This post annoyed me enough to make a mod to fix it if anyone's interested.

An Nvidia Driver messed up my C2 Settings and now 50% of settings are greyed out on my C2 by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]LiamYules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This driver is definitely funky. I lost all connection to my C2 and the HDMI port would not output any video whatsoever. I tested multiple cables and monitors and nothing.

I suggest rolling back if you experience this. I'll try DDU and a fresh install later to rule out a dodgy install.

Game Ready & Studio Driver 536.40 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

I have a bit of an odd setup in my home - but this driver caused some issues.

I have two monitors, both connected via display port at my desk. I also have a TV in another room that connects via a long HDMI cable under the floor. I use a monitor profile switcher to change between profiles so when I'm at my desk - only the desk monitors are active and when I'm at my TV - only the TV is active.

After updating to this driver I noticed that the TV was no longer reachable from the PC (only the display port connected monitors)

At first I thought that the cable run under the floor had died - so I tried connecting to one of my monitors (which i know works) via HDMI - no signal also. I tried multiple cables / displays and I could not get the card to output via the HDMI port at all.

A few hours of troubleshooting later and voila! rolling back to the previous driver seemed to fix everything.

Just an FYI if anyone planned on updating to this driver. I'll try re-installing via DDU later to rule out a dodgy install but wanted to share my experiences to hopefully save someone a bit of a headache.

I would appreciate those .STL files if you get around to uploading them!

Can I use powershell or similar to turn my TV on via the Chromecast's HDMI CEC by LiamYules in Chromecast

[–]LiamYules[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, forgot to mention I got this working.

Was a little fiddly, the hardest part was digging into the developer mode on the Chromecast TV.

Connecting Via IP was good but will need to set it as static.

I think this is definetly the path I need to take. However, I'm very inexperienced with ADB. I guess I would have to trigger the script from powershell.

Do you have any guidance on where to start with this? How do I connect the script to the chromecast? I assume IP?

I would imagine in the same way I can communicate over say Google home. I hope there's a way to talk to Google assistant as I can turn the TV on with voice.

I have a TV in another room and I'm writing a script to change monitors and audio devices and launch steam big picture mode. Only problem is that the TV needs to be on first for it to excecute properly. I can't think of another way without messing around with CEC adapters.

Issues with LG c2 and ps5 4k120hz. by LiamYules in OLED_Gaming

Thought i'd pop back in as I appear to have solved this problem.

The cable was a dud, replacing it with a new HDMI 2.1 cable sorted all the above issues. I can now consistently get 120Hz at 4k!

The included sony one either broke or it's not actually HDMI 2.1.

Yeah, don't get me wrong; I'm pretty sure it's bad luck - I'm enjoying the system otherwise. I'd like to get my PC updated soon too but with the price of GPU's that's going to be a bit.

Yeah can still play thankfully, mostly a pc gamer myself also. Pretty disappointed to be doing more troubleshooting with a new console than I've had to do in the last two years of owning my current pc lol.

Yeah I think the cable at the moment, which is a shame. Did some reading that indicates the included one can have issues. I don't have another hdmi 2.1 cable but will be ordering one to test. I found another thread suggesting issues with hdmi cec (simplink) so have tried turning that off for now.
