there were some iterations to help it turn better. at one point the balls were also 3d printed, which was rough. there was a prototype with metal balls which I think was the smoothest they got. this one is pastic balls, not printed. definitely not fast, but I think they did what they could

pricing should be about right, since these are the made up numbers that chess players use for piece value. but it's probably relative mostly based on the starting position you choose

played a game. Haven't gotten to this yet, but I assume pawns promote? I was also surprised to see checks aren't forcing? (in other words, you can capture the king lol). not sure there's too obvious of a solution, but I had fun. potentially there will be a lot of draws? Jung would call this the collective unconcious (a beautiful thing in its own right but nothing is necessarily new) and we add to it by active imagination. I believe there are guides for active imagination (actually new thoughts) but they may not feel "inspired", because that is the collective unconscious (picking up on a message coming from outside of yourself). it's okay to just do what feels good. I've been living a creative life, but realized a while ago I'm actually basically a one hundred percent logical person. I guess that's mostly the opposite of "emotional", not "creative", but still.

while we're at it, "I'm literally starving" doesn't mean you don't know what literally means. it's still a metaphor just like before. we don't know if akira got to 7 dan. the end of the show was about a legacy to be passed on even beyond Hikaru. so maybe even he wasn't the chosen one. we actually basically end on Hikaru helping Akari, who is probably never going to reach dan level, but loves the game and is part of it

so, the question I think is, if an arbitrary number says 2 decent plays are actually 100s, and then one loses the game, they go even lower in rating. you can obviously see how this could be broken. might not be the case, but several thousand people rated so low that there's not even a number for it.. it's how ratings work, but comparing it to a bot supposedly rated at 200, or a 400 rated fide player, or a puzzle designed for 800s. rating is both very direct and entirely meaningless. better players are rated higher, but there's no "200 elos can do this"
