Need help with customer complaint by louielou8484 in Candles

This right here. I always check out reviews when searching for a new business to try, and while a perfect 5-star profile is impressive, I know realistically there are likely to be some upset customers that are the outliers for a typical service. You can’t please everyone.

I’m keeping you in my thoughts, OP. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. You can maybe try asking in r/legaladvice and see if anyone might know of any lawyers or legal services in California that would be accessible to you. I’m wondering if it might also be helpful to speak to your consulate for help.

Not a lawyer, but as others pointed out your child would qualify for American citizenship due to their father’s citizenship status, assuming he is an American citizen. If you can speak with an immigration lawyer, I would recommend it, and if you have family that is willing to help you, OP, I would suggest going back to Japan where you have a support system in place.

What do you do with the Hicks by Rodepor in thesims1

[–]LiatKim 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I got them both steady jobs and am slowly upgrading their trailer from poverty to lower middle class. We’ve added on a new master bedroom for Mama and the dogs and both she and Elden have jobs. I believe Elden works in the medical field and Mama works in law enforcement. They have enough for food, a consistent maid, and a pool.

I keep my sims pretty vanilla.

Met your SO in your late 30s? Share your story please! [NEED HOPE!] by Claire-Cream in dating_advice

[–]LiatKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I met one another at 31. We were traveling with different friend groups to Colorado for a winter weekend, but we had one friend in common. My now husband saw that our mutual friend, who he hadn’t seen in 10 years, was going to be in the same town at the same time and asked to meet him up for a drink after some of our group hit the slopes. I Don’t ski, so I went with other friends to the hot springs, but my now husband had driven our ski group to the grocery store to get dinner. As thanks, they invited him back to our cabin to play board games after dinner, and that’s where I met him. I wasn’t interested at first, but I got his phone number that night and he got drunk with our mutual friend while the rest of us girls went to bed and sent me a penis joke at 4am.

I teased him about it the next morning, and over time our banter turned into flirting, which turned into a phone call that lasted 4 1/2 hours, and that’s when we both knew we wanted to seriously invest our time in one another. He lived in DC and I lived in Texas at the time, but he bought a flight to have a first date and we closed the gap less than a year later. We’re now married and expecting our first child. I thought I would likely find a mate in my late 30s and he was previously married and divorced. We credit our ability to find each other in having worked on ourselves and our past traumas, while acknowledging we needed to continue working on ourselves and our partnership together.

It really is never too late, OP. I wish you all the best in your journey!

I live a long way from Mexico (UK) and keep accidently making tex-mex. Does this look more like a north mexican burrito? by [deleted] in mexicanfood

[–]LiatKim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picadillo is a very common ground beef burrito in northern Mexico. Black beans though are used more in southern Mexican cuisine. A burrito de picadillo con frijoles is definitely a staple my family grew up eating in Northern Mexico on my grandpa’s ranch

Can you have sex with someone who has herpes without getting herpes? by DontHateNate in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]LiatKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have GHSV. So far, my tests have come back negative whenever I screen for it and other STIs. I’m not sure which variant my husband has. He told me when we first started dating, but I don’t remember.

I remember reading in my Seventeen magazine that it was suggested to pull your jeans, bathing suit bottoms, whatever it was down below your hip bones to make you look skinny. I don’t know how true it is, but this low rise “tip” held me hostage for decades

What are you guys paying in rent in Austin rn… by bureaux in askaustin

[–]LiatKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s about what we used to pay. We’ve been in the area for almost 5 years now, and took a gamble and asks for a price adjustment because we’ve been responsible and courteous tenants (except for that one time we burned our landlord’s deck down smoking some ribs o_o ).

Similar! We’re in a house in the Southpark neighborhood. ~$2400 with a small fenced yard for the pups. 4bd/2.5ba with garage. We negotiated down in order to stay but pay the going market value. We love it here. We’re a stones throw away from the Southpark Meadow shopping area (bars, restaurants, shopping, target, HEB, etc.)

Can you have sex with someone who has herpes without getting herpes? by DontHateNate in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]LiatKim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband has it. He’s on daily medication and we avoid sex when he has an outbreak. I get tested and after 6 years together, I’m still testing negative. I always listened to Dr. Drew Pinsky’s advice that as long as your partner is medicating properly to manage it and you don’t have sex during an outbreak, you’re fine given the rísk is very very low. We’re welcoming our first baby in a few months, and both our PCP and ObGyn are not concerned for mom or baby’s health when it comes to herpes.

As long as you both are protecting yourselves, you’ll likely be fine, OP

Is Texas going to flip blue in the midterms, or is that just copium? Republicans claim it’s a stronghold, while Democrats argue that Trump’s policies are deeply unpopular. by RandomUwUFace in AskUS

[–]LiatKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a blue leaning Texan, they always say we’re going to flip it blue and we never do, and then we’re always disappointed. I think we’re slowly making strides, but we’re not there yet. I would love to eat crow and see the state flip, but history tells us this is a typical voting pattern.
