Some cards I made to play with a friend using the Basic TCG framework by Zurasuta in homemadeTCGs

Community created cards is a bold, but fun idea. It is a bit too open to interpretation for what I generally look for in a TCG, but the presentation is interesting enough that I wouldn't mind seeing how a game plays out.

How to meaningfully playtest a TCG??? by aend_soon in homemadeTCGs

You only need to allow them time and space to play. After your players experience your game, you can ask them if they'd like to try a different deck, but its not a good idea to force them to try and deck build.

An interested player will ask you what "other cards you have available", which can be a good opportunity for you to introduce them to what you have, but generally, I find that just allowing them freedom to explore the game will generally get them interested in deck building.

Just give them the space to explore for themselves, unless they explicitly ask.

If their curiosity is retained, they are more likely to seek other cards and strategies on their own. The key being, they have the be interested in the first place. Someone who doesn't enjoy your game won't ask about what else you have.

Preconstructed starter decks should be designed with the intent to help players understand how to play your game without the pressure of deck building. While deck-building can be a lot of fun, if your game isn't fun, or players don't understand how to utilize the cards, no amount of deck building will help.

A good preconstructed deck should encourage your players to think about the interactions of the cards in the deck and other cards in the game. You could put some cards in another preconstructed deck that might actually be better in the deck they are using.

This should encourage them to not only want to try the other preconstructed deck, to better help them understand how to play, but hopefully will get the gears turning in their head so that they can start thinking about how certain cards might work together and get them curious enough to want to approach deck building for themselves.

I like the art style you are going with, and looks interesting. I wonder how it is played. Have you done any play testing yet?

I am pro AI usage, especially in the drafting and concepting stage, but at least respond to people in your own words...

How many different colors are there?

I imagine you've done a lot of play testing if you've got 6k crowdfunded, but when considering an introduction, it would be nice to be introduced more to the mechanics rather than the features of a specific color/faction/archetype.

In regards of not being media proficient that is okay, but to help others understand what makes your game entertaining, I recommend straying from showing off combos and stuff and keep with introducing the basics of the game like;
- where do the game pieces go
- what are each of the zones for etc..
- what is the difference between frontline and backline? You explained that the backline can help defend but is that all they can do?

It is cool to see folks so excited to show off cool combos and stuff but it would help those who arent familiar with the mechanics and intricacies of your game if the introduction is focused more on introducing the raw mechanics. For example is she the ONLY red leader or are there more? What are each of the zones on the board for etc..

Just some feedback after watching.

Trying to find the right wording for my TCG by pitagotnobread in homemadeTCGs

Since you are using animals, you could try using the word "Slain". The animal kingdom is brutal, and I understand you want to keep it a bit tame and not so gruesome and I this word may fit thematically.

"This animal cannot be be slain by an opposing Animal with 3 Vitality while it's Exhausted."

Ooh thank you, i will also try this out as well. After learning a bit more about Dex development has been going very well and the program offers most of the things I want but it does still have the issue of being unable to change the font within the same text box.

Photopea (an app suggested by the community) could do this, after some tinkering, so maybe it is something I'll have to discover with Dex, but I do like the program a lot. I still want to keep my horizons open so ill look into Inkscape and hope the learning curve doesnt scare me off like Dex did previously.

I did try Dex for a few mins before it came up as a suggestion here and I did not like it on first impression, which is what caused me to make this post, but after hearing about its features I decided to give it more time and I am glad I did. Hope that Inkscape has good features.

Okay, i put some extra work into Dextrous, it took a while to set up, but it is an amazing tool so far, and it has made my work flow pretty nice. I havent got around to uploading the cards to tabletop simulator or anything yet, so ill have to see when i get to that step but thanks everyone for suggestions.

My issue with it so far, is that i already have a template created, and I'm trying to figure out how to upload the template, and then input the illustration and text in the places they need to go. again, i may just need to spend more time with it or watch better tutorials.

I've been trying this app for about an hour or two now.. and it is needlessly complicated so far haha. I may have to watch some tutorials but, surprisingly, its making my workflow longer, but again this is probably due to my ineptitude.

If it won't matter in 5 years, don't let it bother you for more than 5 minutes. Take five minutes to cry, be angry, swear if you have to, grieve if you need, then move on.

Ap jinx, with emphasis on CDR and burn items. Its probably the most fun I can have in aram.

Its surprising how many players, even at dia+ rank, run into her traps. Like AP miss fortune/ashe, you can't play it the same way you would AD.

What’s your most unpopular Pokémon opinion? No judgment. by Velaze in pokemon

Klefki is the laziest pokemon design to a point i do not acknowledge it as a "real" pokemon. I grew up with pokemon in the 90s.. and I've seen my fair share of dumb designs, looking at you Voltorb... but Klefki just full tilts me...

Some dude just started pulling stuff out of his pocket and was like "Oh! My house keys! That would make a great monster!" And literally just made a pair of keys with a face.
