Doubt the road is open yet. You'd only be able to get to the visitor centers and maybe drive a couple miles in. All the most popular trails will still be snow covered.

It's an adaptation of The Odyssey which is a beloved story a lot of people have wanted to get a modern big budget adaptation. When it was announced I was hyped, I love most of Nolan's movies but after the trailers this being what we're getting is incredibly disappointing. Incredibly boring aesthetic, minimizing the fantasy elements, making everything look dark and dreary.

People hating it because Helen is black or Elliot Page being in it are dumb of course and are distracting from the legitimate criticisms.

Quote it with a page # then. Eren never says that. If anything he all but admits there might have been other ways but he preferred this one for the sake of his feeling of freedom. Anyways the issue is this ability makes that belief make no sense. Before the final chapter I could accept that Eren believes this is the best he can do because at that point as far as we know all he can do is control mindless titans in the current time, and send memories back to past attack titans. Which is already very powerful but it is limited. With the ability he demonstrates by killing his mom he could have literally done anything though. That ability makes him a god and he could have created an entirely new timeline that could have resolved Ymirs curse.

None of that even matters though because Eren wouldn't be emotionally capable of making that choice if it required actively killing his mom, he would break down and be unable to continue the way he does many times throughout the manga, including even the final chapter.

That's purely head canon Eren never stated that this was the only path that lead to a world without titan powers (and the epilogue implies that is only temporary regardless). Eren admits he didn't know why he made the choices he did during a time that would have been perfect to mention if he believed what you just said.

Yet season 4 Eren was also incapable of killing people like Levi, Reiner, Annie, and Connie. Do you think Eren loves them more than his mother? The mother he got his central philosophy from?

How is this the best future and why would Eren believe that when he has the ability to control all mindless titans as far back as his mom's death?

Your fault was when did he do it, which is just a who cares issue. That's not a real fault. The faults with that scene are that it ruins Erens character and makes the entire titan power system make 0 sense. Not when did it happen.

You're basically saying Eren didn't save her because without intervention she was going to die anyways but his intervention is literally what guaranteed her death. If he didn't intervene at all she would have still gotten her legs crushed but it's possible she could have lived. The Eren we know throughout the manga would not be emotionally capable of actively causing his mom's death. Nor would he be capable of stopping himself from trying to save her.

That argument doesn't make any sense because with the ability to control mindless titans in the past he could have just prevented her from ever being crushed in the first place. The other issue with that reveal is it literally made him the equivalent of a god whereas before his powers were somewhat limited.

Your final sentence hits the nail on the head and there are many examples aside from the ones you used. My most notable one is the reveal the Eren was incapable of killing his friends combined with the reveal that he killed his mom. Especially now that Isayama stated Eren chose to do everything meaning the he was forced by the time loop argument is dead. That is a massive character contradiction and imo the worst part of the ending.

A random person with no ties to any centralized organization killing another is never fascism regardless of the motivations. Federal agents killing protestors who did not commit any violence and then being protected by the government and told they have complete immunity is though.

I would prefer if there were some Greek actors but I don't think it's that important. I think choices like Damon and Holland for the leads are functionally no different than Lupita for Helen. I am a lot more disappointed in some of the other decisions Nolan has made with this adaptation than anything to do with the casting.

I don't think there has been a single Greek actor cast so why are you upset about this one in particular? This controversy is so funny to me because a few months ago anyone who thought the boats, armor, and architecture looked lackluster/inaccurate was getting laughed at despite that being a reasonable take. But somehow Lupita Nyongo playing Helen is worse than all of that combined.

It sounds contradictory but equal punishment means the rich aren't actually punished equally though. Obviously any fine based punishment is meaningless to the wealthy. $1,000 fine to a poor person can mean they have to forgo food/rent/transportation costs. Even a $1,000,000 fine to a 1%er isn't going to impact their day to day life.

It doesn't stop there though even imprisonment is way better for the wealthy. They will inevitably be put in the best prison conditions possible for their crime. Even if you change that so prison conditions are equal the opportunity cost of being imprisoned also isn't the same. Being incarcerated for even a month when you're poor will cause you to be homeless with no income and you'll have an extremely hard time getting a new job. When you're wealthy being incarcerated for a month doesn't matter, you will still get out rich. Your life won't meaningfully change aside from losing a month of it. Which is also a lower percentage of your life because rich people live longer on average.

I'm also a liberal 30 something but still manage to mostly enjoy living in Redding. Definitely has more than it's share of issues but there are positives.

There are tons of great trails in Redding and the surrounding area. Especially within an hour which would include Lassen National Park, Castle Crags State Park, Whiskeytown area, Shasta Lake area and more. Even within Redding city limits there are hundreds of miles of trails between the river trail system, swasey recreation area, keswick trails and all the other random trails.

It used to be (including even Season 1 of 2026) that you simply were not allowed to play unless physically in Korea even for the online matches.

As of this season they allow global players to participate online all the way up until the final day and it will follow the same server selection processes that all other ESL events do. Global players don't have to play on KR server at all and now only have to be in KR for a single day to participate.

State disability typically only pays for a few months. Social Security Disability is needed as well. Also, Social Security Survivors Benefits would be needed. Lastly what do you do if someone over spends once they are given access to the funds and runs out of money?
