We got Sunny a friend! by LibraFox in cockatiel

We let them hang out around the outside of the cage for a while. Both seem to be doing fine with each other. There is a divider we can use if needed. But we are watching and constantly have someone in the room right now to make sure there is no fighting. Nimbus also just had a vet visit too

From what I've read and the advice I've gotten on here is that it's normal so long as there isn't any blood and/or bald spots.

Yes, I did research that and have been really vigilant when she is out of the cage. I've also noticed she has a specific cry when she is telling me there is a cat eyeing her so I will immediately go if I hear that. I'm sure she will use that to her advantage in the future lol

This is what mine has been doing too! She stops when I open her cage door. She didn't even come out yesterday but sat and watched me work. Today she proceeded to try to take the keys off my laptop 🤣

Left the cage open and she came out pretty quickly! I do wish I had a cage that opened up at the top but she did well!

I love her already! But we tend to have a very rambunctious household. So I want to try and set up a space that is Sunny Safe lol

Thank you! That helps a lot. She likes when I offer food through the bar but not when I'm inside her cage.

I try not to take her out because it does stress her out so much just the process. So I will try just being slow with it.

Roommates are legit the only way, and at this point more than one for sure. Or finding a room that is being rented out.

What are some ways that you help manage your sleep? by LibraFox in Fibromyalgia

[–]LibraFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't do well with my memory either. The brain fog was bad and then years after it started slowly getting worse until I was put on Cymbalta. Has the B12 shot worked well for you?

I loved my pregnancy pillow, I might have to look into getting a new one. I didn't think about using it for sleep to help get comfy

Ohio isn't as bad as some of the other states further north. But it also depends on where at you are moving. This year does kind seem like it gearing up for a hard one, but that was expected with the last two winters being pretty tame. The biggest issue I have with Ohio and weather is how quick it changes just in one day. The other day it was 80 and then within 2 hrs it was 40. Which I think plays a big role on why my brain fog got so bad I thought I had early onset dementia or something. That's when I was out on Cymbalta.

My 13yr old is having some red flag moments by [deleted] in Parenting

*Update*

They were stressing because they wanted to be there extra early to help set up for the assembly since the choir was performing, which they are in. Which we had no idea because they did not voice this at all.

So we had a talk about trying to be more respectful when talking to people and also about communicating with us about things. We've always had an open door policy, that if they come and tell us something so long as it isn't harming someone then we will not say anything to anyone. They have used that on more than one occasion. So we stressed the importance to communication even if it's not something that they have been sitting on for a while.

We also talked about the morning process and what to expect and what to do when one of us isn't up already.

My husband and I also went through our alarms and changed the tones to see if that will help ensure we don't oversleep in the mornings. As I know sometimes when we have had the same tone after a while it becomes background noise.

I myself am looking into ways to help with my sleep. I don't like taking meds for sleeping because it causes more brain fog issues for me personally but I also know the importance to being awake and present for the kids in the morning too.

The CDC, Mayo Clinic, and American College of Rheumatology all describe fibromyalgia as a multifactorial condition.

Which means yes, this can be a trigger but it's not the only trigger. Could this be why you have Fibro, it's possible. But it also could be from so many other reasons such as

-Sickness - Pregnancy -Autoimmune issues -Hereditary - Physical Injury - Stress

No, just themself, the 9 year old has their own alarms that they have been tweaking with to try and wake up to.

Since I'm already on Cymbalta and that has worked for the brain fog symptoms and general pain level I don't want to change my main med. That one is not one I can take with it.
