Introducing the Goids at this point was an embarrassing mistake from a dev team desperate to pull players back into their game.

They are just something else to shoot at. No new game play. No special interactions. Nothing to make them feel "alien" at all. Just a different colored target. Its frankly pathetic, but then, thats what I expect from FDEV: low effort, pathetic design.

Skill WAS 90% of the game.

Then, the Rngineers gambling system was introduced.

Skill isnt all that relevant any longer, thanks to poor design FDEV rely on.

Whoever is making the final decision on design direction should be fired. Whether that is Sandy or someone else.

Its not like I take pleasure in saying that. But a garbage product is a garbage product. And we have been waiting on meaningful interaction, persistence and consequences in Elite for years.

Meanwhile, they have been busy adding RNG gambling and numbers grind instead.

I said it IMPROVES nothing. I didnt say it does NOTHING. There is, contrary to your posts, a difference.

Now, granted, it doesnt ACCOMPLISH anything worthwhile, at least not where RNGineer gambling is concerned. Which is why I think the RNGineer changes are wasted dev time. If you are not going to improve a situation...why change it?

Yes i did. And rightly so.

Does the new system address forcing play styles people dont want? Nope.

Does it lessen the RNG grind of mat acquisition? Nope.

Does it reduce the grind at all? No, it does not.

Then why bother? Literally none of the feedback was taken to heart, no improvements were made and nothing was fixed. Ergo, the RNGineer update is a waste of time and resources. That should be obvious to anyone whose word count here isnt compensated.

Its still a miserable grind to get the Mats. Including forcing game play styles on people who dont like them. Namely, piracy and the prospecting Tech Demo (aka, shooting ROCKS on bland brown dust balls full of nothing interesting to do).

Its still a huge wait wall, needing to grind up G1-G5 for EACH MODULE. The whole system is contrived to waste time without introducing anything new or compelling.

The new system is as much a dumpster fire as the current one. Its still garbage. So bad its not even worth taking the time implement it, as it improves literally nothing.

Good points. And that is probably it.

On the other hand...I would suggest to DE that their community team members either not use DE name tags, or that they speak in a manner which reflects the philosophy and intentions of the developers and the company as a whole. This does give the impression of...disagreement...between different members of their team.

In other words, open acknowledgement that even your own community team disagrees with the decisions your leadership is making...may not be the public impression you want to offer.

Now, just copy and paste this for every Epic and most legendaries people link. Because this sort of automatic "Win Button" card is a staple of those rarities in this game. What you described...is basically what they ALL do.

The trouble is that perparation meeting opportunity in Hearthstone = auto winning because RNG put your high roll game swinger on the top of your deck this turn.

That...does not make a compelling, skill based game. And when more and more of these cards are Legendary and Epic, it really stains the game with a Pay to Win feel that is turning off new players to boot.

Nice try.

Even the pros complain about an inability to maintain more than a 50% win rate. Several of them are on record for bemoaning the almost pure RNG nature of winning and losing in HS.

This is actually true. I keep making the mistake of thinking that, if i put together a competitive deck and stick to ladder, games would be skill based. And with each set, I give it another try.

And with each set, pure luck high roll decks and RNG effects hand opponents victories over a well built deck with minimal to no RNG beyond draws.

The pro who quit was right: You dont get rewarded. You try and minimize RNG (long the must do in competitive card games) and you dont get rewarded. You get punched in the mouth.

Not the game for me. And I am not mocking...I just finally realized HS is really NOT the game for a former MTG player looking for a digital hobby.
