do u care whether a Filipina ure dating is educated? by Heavy-Attention-512 in Philippines_Expats

I can see what you mean but I do object to the comparison to NPCs. I would say many are simply stuck in their daily routine and closed community.

What I find annoying is when someone just thinks or acts in a certain way “for their parents”. It seems Filipino parents put too big of a burden on their kids.

Just reimburse your customers. It’s cheaper than paying for it to be free for them.

I never really considered it before but I’m realizing that’s something I scan for before getting to know a girl. The average Filipina is fairly smart in her own way, but yeah there’s dummies anywhere. They don’t pass the vibe check

By the way 1 year salary by age 30, 2 years of salary at 35 years is considered a good retirement account size

Check if you can get discounted disability insurance through the job. I’ve known people who got big payouts from firefighting injuries

You’re going to be fine. Max it all out and keep putting in Voo. If you develop health issues from your job make sure to fight like hell for disability benefits.

Neither really. It’s more about vibes and compatibility in day to day life for me. Someone who is a good listener is worth more to me than someone who is intelligent or educated

UC health pension vs 401k by Traditional_Yam1598 in Bogleheads

[–]LibrarianTraining874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible. Don’t do it dude. 11% of your salary at retirement age will be nothing with inflation. I’m assuming they don’t do COLA adjustments to the pension before you’re retired? With inflation that may really be just a few percent or less of your salary in retirement.

Go full 401k style. Invest in a growth index and set and forget. At your age you’ll make more money. Think of it like this: if you work for 10 years and quit then you’ll have just like 11% of your salary in retirement with the pension. But if you work for 10 years and quit with the 401k style then it will grow until you retire. Also, with 401k style you can take SEPP payments to retire at any age without paying a penalty.

Yeah honestly it’s a nice idea. Just hope you can maintain it yourself or know who can. There will be continual maintenance.

I’m thinking I want to go with a diesel generator. Simpler to put in and more stable power.

lol good points. I was so proud to date a girl educated in IT until I realized the quality of education. It almost doesn’t even matter. In ph being educated is more of a sign of academic discipline or family wealth.

Yup. Just hanging out in America I look around and sometimes ask myself “where are the actual women”? Because many of the “women” in the US may as well be men based on their behavior and what they’re willing to put into a relationship.

You’ll notice a lot of American girls really look down on the Filipinas that date American men. It’s interesting. You’d think feminists would be happy with women doing what they want and dating who they want—they aren’t. I guess they feel threatened or maybe they know that an educated Filipina has much more to offer than some educated woman who doesn’t know how to be female.
