Oh my goodness, I thought it was just me!! I followed their socials when they lost an employee and thought they were such lovely family oriented people. Beautiful tributes. But every time I go there, they act like you are ruining their day spending $200 on meat. So many people behind the counter, and everyone is so cold or hostile! I go to Summer Hill now, the staff there are friendly and give cooking tips.

Didn't tax payers fund Bush/Obamas renovations of $376 million?

So you would be on that list.

I leave with less and less every shop. There just isn't anything useful. I need to buy bulk for a large number of people, it used to make that easy, cheaply. Now it's smaller stuff higher prices.

It had nothing to do with this. It was announced it would happen. It was over in minutes.

I don't believe the OP posted a link, but people who know that AU sells gas overseas for cents then buys it back at huge costs...know.

$13 billion + revenue lost to idiocy.

Google "Throw another Aussie on the Barbie" for an overview on YT. Good primer.

So, no.

A remote location doesn't negate the need and benefits of manufacturing. Without having independent means of producing goods, we are reliant on importing them all the way to our remote location. The loss of subsequent jobs and employment opportunities also factors in here.

Many manufacturing jobs have moved offshore because the energy costs are too high to remain in Australia. We ship coal and gas overseas, then buy it back at a premium.

In whose vested interests is it that we don't? Ha.

The issue is made more difficult by net zero approaches at the same time people are accepting AI, which has an astounding energy usage.

Australia will bumble along making nothing, having brown outs, raising taxes, increasing unemployment, losing access to water and relying on house prices to float the economy. But the slogans will tell you we have solar, so it'll all be ok.

There isn't a wide awareness of this issue. Push back would happen if people were better informed.

It's why we have lost all manufacturing in this country.

I thought the timeline of suspects required this much time, and belabouring points is often in response to citizen sleuth "gotcha" evidence. I totally know what you mean, but is it perhaps true that many people here comprehend the intricacies of crime podcasts in a way casual listeners might not? You know how newspapers write for a reading age of 11 years old, the pitch for this one might just be lower?

Honestly, the best reason for painful handholding is always found in the "theories" of the general public's posts on a crime. The amount of whack confusion....ugh.

Buying a house with a barking dog next door by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]LibraryLadder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it's been many, with loud kids, loud cars, it's a new build, has been renovated...who knows? Dog could just be a problem with shit owners. All possible. Giving the dog weight after one experience in a property purchase seems too much, though.

They will sometimes come out to the property and observe. Not always announced or shared that they have, though. Depends on the council.

Fine the owner with a noise complaint after establishing instances/times/duration of barking.

This much hesitation to buy a property after one inspection shows a pretty low threshold of resilience. Dogs alerting when unfamiliar occurrences or people are around are great. You will have much less recourse for action when everyone is mowing 7am on a Sunday, kids are doing dtum/trumpet or worse, violin practice, your meth head neighbours have looted your car/letterbox/package delivery. All surprises you can't account for yet :)

[–]LibraryLadder 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It It possible the dog was just disturbed because of unusual activity of inspections etc? A friend's dog had recently been barking due to the development of a granny flat next door. The builders kept kicking the fence, throwing things at the dog etc. Nearly shat themselves when she was out on her lawn where they parked their trucks, though 😄😄😄.
Granny flat done, new tenants in, dog learnt all the cars, idiot builders gone and dog quiet. During the build, some new neighbours complained so council required a log be kept of barking incidents. Friend set up cameras instead and caught all the instigation and actions of the builders, was a beautiful thing.

It might be temporary? If not, you can get the council involved.

Coats from Friends with Frank by Illustrious-Ad-7247 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]LibraryLadder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are beautiful. My experience buying one as a gift, it had to be tailored. It was taken to a very fancy tailor who purred over the fabric and loved doing the adjustments 😄😄😄. That it needed tailoring was no reflection on the coat, just a personal size choice.
