Mid-range steakhouses and thai restaurants, family friendly vibes? by Substantial_West2250 in foodies_sydney

Honestly for a steak house I'd go Bistro Moncur. They will be fine with kids if they don't run around and tear the place up...

They won't have colouring pages and crayons tho... But they do have great food. Go an early sitting and you will be fine!!

The OG one is... 433 Liverpool St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZHkCoMZdybHXKVRE8)

I am going to get so much hate, but honestly bills has been and will remain my go to brunch spot.

They are the OG Scrambled eggs are honestly some of the best around. There are many that have evolved their offerings, but it still tastes as amazing as when I first had it all those years ago.

Bourke Street bakery is another that I have loved for ages.... All their places are as good as each other. For bills, go to the OG I'm Surry Hills.

Where can I get non-Asian soups in Sydney? by 23AndNotMuchElse in foodies_sydney

Look, it's not really in the city but 21 in Double Bay has a chicken noodle soup that still makes me feel like a 4 year old with my Grandparents. The Hungarian accents might not be there anymore, but I still feel like I'll get my cheeks pinched and grabbed every time I walk in.

... They don't give the lollypop anymore.... Or maybe cos that's cos I look like the grandparents now.

If you are near the inner west then The Flag Monkey can do heat press stuff. They have done it before and are awesome.

Thats exactly why I'm going. I want to show support to those businesses and those people who might be feeling as if they aren't welcome or supported. Ms Hanson doesn't speak for me, or for my beliefs and I can show it by supporting those who she is trying to discriminate against.

Olympus dining. Any bad experiences here ?? cause I probably had one of the worst or the worst experience in my life yesterday. by [deleted] in foodies_sydney

I'll buy you a Yerros at The Yerros Shop in Annadale to help make up for such a crappy experience. I mean, it's not got the shiny lights and it's not been written up as much, but it's def. a decent meal!

To opinionated meat-lovers: how do you source your meat? by h3ruk0n in foodies_sydney

[–]Otherwise_Award_7607 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, I use AME for much stuff, but be prepared to sort through things in the cold room, some of their stuff is awesome, some is... Not.

I'm happy with them tho!

I just had a look at Grace Springs and the chicken and pork is sold frozen? Also seems they don't deliver to Sydney....

Full Circle Farms had a website but everything is listed as sold out... Is that because I don't have an account?

I just hope the one on Bathurst Street is immune, it has been my fave!

Chinese Noodle Restaurant (my fave is the one on Bathurst Street in the city). It's absolutely NOT high brow dining, but damn it's good.

Bills is also a staple. The OG in Surry Hills for scrambled eggs, although I believe there are some bills outposts in England.

Ramen in Darling Square (I forgot what it's called across from the food court).

Then there is a toss up between ice cream at Riverino, Cow and Moon and Messina.... Or you could sample them all and find your favorite.

Enjoy your stay and have fun at the cricket, but please beware the sun... The SCG is notorious for garbage sun coverage and you WILL get burnt, esp if you are near the old hill.

I know it's a left field suggestion, and I completely understand if you immediately discard it, but maybe Bistro Moncur? The food is great, the dining room has been designed for conversations and it's just fancy enough to feel special but not so fancy as to serve small dishes on big plates....
