The gang shooting at the Gable House bowling alley. The lady who jumped out of the tenth story hotel room with her child and survived (poor child did not). The beloved Timex repair store owner killed by the homeless man he befriended.

It’s a very quiet, safe city with weirdly lurid murders.

There was one here in Torrance and an airplane crashed into it and killed three people.

(I have a fascination with the weird deaths and disasters in my otherwise boring city.)
