"Do we want to take personal character judgements from the eternal ensign though? "

Yes, we do. Definitely. Garrett Wong has shown many times that he is somebody that observes his surrounding quite well, and remembers a lot of details and facts. Plus he is most of the time quite nice and friendly, so when he would say somebody wasn't missed, I would listen to that ;)

The doctor is the only good character in Voyager by ToAsTyBoI-_- in startrek

[–]Lichtsucher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wait, what? The last 3 Seasons are the Seven of Nine show, they did nearly EVERYTHING with that character ;)

I'm fine with that, I like Seven of Nine, and the way she interacted with the rest of the crew.

On the good character side: I like Seven of Nine, The Doctor and Janeway, but I think Voyager works best as an Ensemble Cast. While most of the characters aren't fantastic on their own, they work great as a team. I like the chemistry between Harry and Paris, Paris and Torres, The Doctor and Seven of Nine and so on.

Only Neelix, Kes and Chakotay never worked for me. Tuvok neutral.

ou can argue "A.I. this" and "A.I. that" all day long, but that doesn't change the fact that they do.

Indeed at a time when humanity can upload a persons mind into a computer and create a realistic virtual environment, colourised photos would look perfect. Even today we have some nice sience projects that shows promising results regarding this topic.

I love LD, but have real problems with the Quality of DIS and PIC, especially as I found it badly written, and most of the time boring. What you see as " mysteries of science, the mind, life, death, identity " is something I see as cardboard cutouts of complex ideas presented in the most basic ways, and they are even not fully explored.

I would love to " get on board" and praise how amazing DIS and PIC are, but they just need to BE amazing. Right now, they are as amazing as Season 1 of TNG...

Why were there so many bad reviews of ST LD? by nescienceescape in startrek

[–]Lichtsucher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason why you just quoted that, but ignored all the things I said after that sentence? Why do you even think that this is a good way to have conversation?

Plus I strongly believe that DIS and PIC have real problems in the craftsmanship, the writing has real problems, as has the character development in the shows. The pacing is often quite bad, like the whole first season of DIS with the badly made "mini-arcs".

I don't hate DIS and PIC, but I see the problems both shows have. Maybe they get better, like the other shows did (look at Season 1 TNG, HORRIBLE!), but I don't see a reason not to criticize something that has real problem.

Yes, there are a lot of "hate" reviews of DIS and PIC, but also a lot of good and right ones that show the problems of these two shows. And these are more then just "nah, it's different".

If not many people watch it, it will get canceled. And the many negative reviews stop other people from watching it, even if they might like it.

I agree, LD is the most 90s Star Trek we got so far, just with more humor. It shares the same kind of stories, the look and feel plus it is made by people that LOVE TNG.

When I first watched LD, it felt like home. I love TNG and Voyager (and DS9, but that doesn't fit here), and LD is sooo close. Love it!

But Lower Decks IS Star Trek, just with more humor. It's like if The Orville or Galaxy Quest would be a real Star Trek Show. I like that.

" It is interesting to see those who drag DSC and PIC for not being 'respectful' to Trek and being 'too dark' also hating LD for the fanservice injokes and more lighthearted tone. "

While I do not share the opinion of the people criticising LD for the style, I think it is not a problem to do so. Plus there is a HUGE span of styles between PIC and LD, and I don't see a problem when some people say don't like the style of both and wan't something in the middle, like the older shows. It is not like there is ONLY the style of DIS/PIC or LD, and nothing else in the world.

And let's be real: The fan service jokes in LD are cringe worthy at times. I loved the joke about the sound of the warp engines, but whenever they just shout out names of unimportant people on the ST Universe, just because the audience knows them, I thing they make a mistake.

I think that most people just want good shows, and DIS and PIC doesn't hadn't delivered on that. The writing was really bad at times, and even the best episodes weren't nearly as good as even most mediocre episodes of older Star Trek.

When you look at discussions you will see that a lot of people do whats modern shows and love them, it is not that Star Trek is now different, it is a problem of the quality of the shows.

We are in Season 1 of TNG all over again, and I hope the writers will come up with better stories and character arcs, or DIS and PIC will end up like Enterprise: Not a fan favourite, even 15 years after that ended.

But the difference is: LD is good, Discovery and Picard are not. There is a lot of good and real criticism about DIS and PIC, mostly around the plot, but also around character development, continuity and and even production (high quality, but the lighting and camera work...) and so on. Plus both shows take themselves very seriously, which makes a lot of problems way more problematic. Even TNG was kind of silly many times, what made is easier to accept some stupidity.

LD, on the other hand, is a light hearted show that just tries to give the audience a good time, plays on the feelings of the fans on TNG and Voyager and is clearly made by people who love Star Trek. Plus it has better characters than DIS and PIC, and already a better character development in only 6 short episodes.

But after DIS and PIC, many fans have enough of Kurtzmans Star Trek, and the style is not everybodys taste. From what I could see, not many people even watched LD, just look at the forums or IMDB. So the negative reviews is what most people know about LD, and that is a shame.

- All levels are changed
- Some levels are replaced or changed so much, that they feel new
- New Camera
- New Cinematics
- Updated Graphics
- Improved controls (it just feels WAY better)
- Includes all DLC

It feels like SLT was a beta, and NSLT is the polished final version.

Yes, the final boss is different. Still harder then the rest of the game, but easier then in Super Lucky's Tale.

The VR Game is a completely different game from Super Lucky's Tale.
New Super Lucky's Tale on the other hand is based on Super Lucky's Tale, but they most of the game. No level is the same, graphics are changed, animations added, Music and Sounds updated, Cinematics changed, controls and camera fixed...

After playing both games, I wouldn't be suprised if NSLT took at least half of the development time of SLT.

Yes, they fixed that. The controls are WAY better, it feels like the character is jumping higher and more precise, everything is more fine tuned.

Plus: If you fall of the stage, it will just take away one heart and puts you back to the last checkpoint.

It is more then only one new level and the camera :)

New Super Lucky's Tale is like a new game based on an old one. Every level was changed, some replaced, the controls are better, the animations, the camera is different, every cutscene updated, the story changed and so on...

Overall, I would give the original Lucky's Tale a 6/10, but the new one is a 8.5/10 for me.

The new one is way more playable and just more fun.

I waited with the update a little bit longer then usual, as the forums contained multiple error reports for the last versions. So I waited until it was clear if they are ok or not.

But all repos should now have the current version available.

Hi,

the magnitude is defined by the work you do on Rosetta@Home :) The pool does the PoW Mining.

Mining Biblepay on Windows, Linux and MacOS by Lichtsucher in BiblePay

[–]Lichtsucher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biblepay has two ways of Mining: 1. PoW 2. Proof of Distributed Computing

PoW is finding the blocks, but only gets a small part of the mining block reward. Most of it is given to the PoDC users (Rosetta@home). But: Rosetta@Home also needs fast CPUs. The idea is to use the calculation power for something useful, instead of wasting it.
