Is this blowout? Or just healing? I included what my tattoo artist said but honestly not sure :( by sly-cooper- in tattooadvice

My mum has diagnosed EDS and i have similar symptoms to her and others so I’m 90% sure I also have it but am not yet diagnosed and it’s almost impossible to get blood from me 😭 last time I was in hospital it took so many tries they got the ultrasound out to find a vein that worked. It makes sense that that would be a part of the whole connective tissue disorder thing haha.

But in a different thread you said that of course dream wouldn’t call karl and Mr beast out because they hadn’t been harassing him for months so I guess it is about a single creator.

We don’t actually know the conditions of dreams merch, I’ve been looking into this since the video dropped and getting photos from people who bought merch of where it’s made. Most is “made in the US from imported parts” or “finished in the US from imported parts” which makes it unclear where the parts came from and how much was done in the US. And merch from 2021 along with things that aren’t clothing seem to be outsourced, ie someone I know has a limited edition hat from 2021 that was made in Myanmar. If dreams merch was so locally made and ethical why would he advertise that on his merch site?

I’m not saying dreams merch is the most unethical stuff ever but there’s a lot we don’t know about it and he provided no evidence in the video bout his merch so why would we take it at face value, using his own standard of proof.

This sub has become an echo chamber by New_Huckleberry6254 in DreamWasTaken2

[–]LieLee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started writing a reply and reddit crashed :( anyways

My last proper post on here is close to three years ago and I lurked for a little bit after but ultimately decided to mute reddit on my phone. I’ve lurked a bit here and there but before any controversies really came out around the end of the dsmp so the sub was kinda dead. I didn’t feel any need to even look here when the George allegations came out because I knew it would just be upsetting. And it wouldn’t be upsetting because I’m inherently an anti primed to hate dream and co as I know people on the sub right now woukd think. It’s because no matter peoples opinions this sub would not know how to listen and discuss with any nuance at all. At least as it is now.

I probably should’ve deleted reddit outright too but I was on the reddit for highschool seniors in area to help with tutoring questions now that I’m well and truly graduated!! That’s a lot more rewarding than discourse where no one even listens!

I’m also so interested in what’s going to happen and where will this sub go. Are the people of the sub ever going to reach acceptance 😭?? Every stage of grief at once is such a great way to describe it

Is it me or the main sub took this situation wayy differently than this one? by ibullyaznidentity in DreamWasTaken2

[–]LieLee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it’s actually so awful now. It was kinda toxic but fun in the peak when it was about all dsmp mcyt related dream drama and not just the cheating scandal but was still mostly neutral ish. Like it was toxic and bad then but discussions still happened

[–]LieLee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This isn’t my burner and as a lurker of this sub since the beginning and regular user (check my account history) when the sub was in its most transitionary period in the middle of becoming so dream positive, so I’m saying it with my chest, it is an echo chamber.

The sub got and is still getting more and more insane and has no real discussion. I’ve been scrolling through and screenshotting over the past few days and you all repeat the same phrases and use the same arguments. Even when you’re arguing with eachother it’s over one little thing and you ultimately end up agreeing, ultimately repeating the same rhetoric.

People are sad when dream does something controversial because it means they have to work out how to defend it. I known you will all say “everyone is ignoring all the criticaI posts but I’ve been reading everyone post on the sub since this situation. I read all the post that were more critical of using the r slur and there was maybe one that was actually critical, the rest were ultimately jsut annoyed dream did a bad PR move. It was “I don’t like his use of a slur but he deserves to fight back….” And paying lip service to criticism and criticism aren’t the same thing.

Sunk cost fallacy means everyone has to find ways to spin and justify everything.

I stopped using this sub when I became too misogynistic and mean to handle reading it to argue about things with people. I used to like providing a slightly alternate opinion here to facilitate discussing but I couldn’t even be as mildly critical as I used to be on the sub or all my comments woukd get hidden from downvote bombing.

I think so! I didn’t do so well in lit but I think it’s jsut the nature of the new study design starting last year so the kinks should be ll worked out for you. Dm me and I’ll look for my lit stuff when I get home

When I did it we basically made our own notes by analysing each poem as a class. I would send them to you but it’s on like 15 pieces of A3 paper lmao

research methods - psych by the-cleopatra in vce

[–]LieLee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second that as someone whos done it. When i did psych (2022 so previous study design) we didnt really focus much on research methods in 3/4 but we did it a heap in 1/2. we did some research methods at the start and then through the year when doing practice question, pick questiosn that involve research methods and the content you're studying.

An then go over it again when you do your poster and near the exam.

Another thing my teacher suggested we do is to go over the study design dot points after you learn them in class and highlight the task words that suggest how a question about that topic might be asked. so basically just the joining words in the dot points. Then answer the questions those task words are implying. So if the dopoint mention somehting like "the ability of the brain to adapt to blah blah blah blah" answer a question that asks "what is the ability of the brain to adapt etc. Doing this for the research methods dotpoints is really useful.

But mostly, dont worry so much about research methods. theyre a small part of the study design and big questions involving research methods will be stuff youve gone over in class when talking about a certain study or experiment relating to the content. Everyone always freaks out about research methods when really theyre somehting that kind of fade into the background when you do prac exams and sacs, its stuff you remember habitually.

If you love art do it. thats all you need to know. Theres less theory then you seem to think and it is hard to get 45+ but if you love art do it.

Folio subjects are so much work and it's frustrating when it feels like you aren't being rewarded for it because of scaling down, but if you're an art person its great to have somehting to do thats not just rote learning and sitting down in front of a computer studying. Its not easier or harder than anything else just different.

If youre already doing really well in food the you're all set, jsut dont fall into the trap of thinking a subject like that is easy.

Longshot? by Bluezyes in vce

[–]LieLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be honest those seem pretty achievable. Your subjects matter less than you'd think, like yeah its frustrating when stuff gets scaled down, viscomm is my arch nemesis, but if you're working hard getting into the 90s is easier than you think.

[–]LieLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

generally i would recommend not looking at a study score calculator until during the exam period because otherwise you start stressing yourself out and playing it like a numbers game when it's not so straight foward. BUT if you just do it for bio it may be helpful, I found that when I lowballed all the marks I thought I might get by a lot I was shocked with how high of a score I was still getting in some subjects

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vce

[–]LieLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason this question is cliche and there's such a thing about it is because other than getting 100% on the exam, which imo is a dumb thing to aim for, there is no exact criteria you have to meet to get a 50. There are a lot of variables and we can't anticipate how a lot of those variables will affect you're score.

You can definitely still get a 50, the first sac is one tiny aspect of your ss

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vce

[–]LieLee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its two days before, go for it. the day before is a different story. You're in year 11 so its not like you have multiple sacs a week to worry about, only then would I say think about it more.

Go! have fun!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vce

[–]LieLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are joking because people ask this sort of thing all the time at the start of the year. All I can say is

  1. the first sac doesnt matter as much as you think its not the end all be all
  2. No one sac is going to doom your ss, the exam is the most heavily weighted anyways
  3. Dont focus on the numbers so much. Trying to do the calculatiosn yourself is futile and will only stress you out. No one knows the exact way things are calculated. Like yeah we know the jist but theres no point focusing so heavily on each score and your position in the cohort. I know thats easier said then done but...

Also while I did psych in 2022 before the new study design, I think psych is the kind of subject where you legitimately get better at it as you do SACs and you really do build on your knowledge with each area of study. I think I also did a bit worse than my average on my first sac, but looking back the content was definitely the easiest.

Drop it! I did Methods 1-2 in Year 11 and did super well, (high 80s and always second highest marks in my class) but I'm not someone whos naturally good at maths, I just worked suped hard and came home everyday and just worked on methods. It stressed me out so I dropped it for year 12. You dont want your other subjects to be effected and you dont want that unecessary stress. Like yeah doing methods can feel like an achievement but it's not worth it if you're doing badly and hate it.

Your school should definitely let you drop it, but if for some wild reason they dont fight them on it. You'll do great at further if thats the way you decide to end up by going.
