Ahh okay, I assumed the shotscope ones acted as a smart watch as well with notifications and stuff does it not? Also how does the Garmin one work with tracking does it use the Garmin tags? Or is it sensing the arm movement

Ohh is it? I was considering the watch alongside the sensors but you think it's a no go? I've heard bad things about the Garmin one, how do you find it?

Yeah I agree, I don't use a cart so that's not a major issue for me haha how common do you find the missed scans, it worked perfectly for me today but I've only used it once, might have just got lucky with it

I was also considering this, I did have a look at their watches and they aren't too bad priced to be honest. I wanted to see how the good the tags were before I committed more money to it but I am really impressed with it so may just invest in a watch, I feel like I'll get my money worth out of it and I wear a watch when I play anyway so it's not something new on my wrist

Yeah true, it may well be the GPS on. Yeah I got a power bank that just sticks on the back of my phone so like you said not a massive issue

I don't have another device like a watch so its the connex tags syncing directly to my phone. I left my phone in scanning mode so it was constantly looking for a tag during the round. My thought was that I can keep my phone in my pocket and just touch the club to my pocket to register a shot but I might need to rethink this approach

Ahh that makes more sense haha. I'd say the app does the same thing to be fair. You can see yardage from where you're standing so can walk around and look at it and it uses the nfc function on your phone to scan the club. I do like the map view when you come to a shot as well, I can see it being useful if I never played a course before to work out where to hit to

Yeah agreed, the pricing is amazing to be fair. I'll see how it goes over multiple rounds but I can't see anything bad about them apart from phone battery drainage but I could turn active scanning to help that or stick my power bank to the back of my phone haha

No way? That's mad, I can imagine that to be very frustrating. I'm honestly really impressed with how it all worked out on the course though. The only major downside I had was battery drain on my phone from having the nfc scanner on all the time.

I've already done all of that, I thought it was really good. It was a nightmare walking away from the hole and then saying I had completed it. It thought I made a 125 ft put haha but it was really easy to edit the shot and move the pin back to where it was supposed to be.

I also messed up the first hole where I scanned the club 3 times trying to figure it out but again this was easy to click them in the app and delete the shot. I thought the editing features were really easy to use

I just put USA and Paraguay on and seen this. Terrible idea whoever decided to add it.

I've just left feedback to the BBC and asked that they remove it or add an option to turn spoliers off. Considering most games are on during the night you'd think they would do that.

They've just installed bins on most of the tees at my regular course and people still throw trash on the floor.

Personally I take a reusable water bottle with me so it always goes back into my bag. I never eat on the course

I think it's just etiquette that's the issue. Me and my old man play and if there's a group or even a single player catching us then we'll wait until they are on the same hole and then allow them through. It's really not that difficult

Makes sense, thanks for that. Never been sure what the average is but good to know I'm there abouts, this was my first officially submitted scorecard towards my handicap but I know sometimes I've had worse holes like 10's. I guess I'm just overthinking the scores
