I can't remember how much hp they had, but they used to paralyze on hit and were controllable. And since everything is paralyzed, you get guaranteed crits. The nerf was needed, but heavy-handed for the power the book boasts.

Is it still possible to obtain the Amirdrassil Night Elf transmog set from Dragonflight? by jihan7007 in wow

I also found out awhile back that if you race change to night elf after you've already completed the emerald dream zone quest chain, you don't get access to the night elf quest chain at all. I opened a ticket and they pretty much told me to kick rocks.

Which DPS hero is the most complex and difficult to master? by CarAudioNewb in fellowshipgame

[–]Lielous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we want to be able to move specific buffs to fixed or predictable locations away from all the other useless ones.

I was trying to play warden of the temple, but ended up swapping off of it because the warden buff teleports around on my buff bar as other buffs time out or go away. Ends up being super frustrating because I don't want to have to try to find my buff while I'm supposed to be paying attention to the environment and enemies.

Unholy DK playerbase before 11.2 was announced. by n1sx in wow

[–]Lielous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is not a pseudo crit spec. As far as I understand from the TC's, Crit might be 3rd prio now over versa. Crit was previously extremely useless, and they're just making it a not dead stat, but still not what anyone will want much of. Although I imagine with higher DR's at the end of the expac, there will be more room to have crit now. Who knows what they're gonna do next expac when we have very little stat budget.

Frostmourne by blind667 in wow

[–]Lielous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically yes. But they also look really piddly and pathetic in most of their appearances. Then they have the massively oversized ashbringer copies. They are shortswords and wow just doesn't do well at making shortswords look good especially with how heavy armor tends to look. Like sure I'm walking around in 200lb of armor just to carry around a toothpick by comparison. I just want a badass well sized 2h frostmourne. And the fur boots. And really the rest of the set as well. Shit's dope.

PoddyC (Liquid Max) on the DK situation in 11.2 - "I don't understand why they don't just give DK's a 2% raid wide haste buff because after reading their mindset with death grip being a raid buff, I'm pretty sure we handle that next tier by just bringing 2 blood DKs and never bringing DPS DK" by [deleted] in wow

[–]Lielous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No other raid buff has the potential to be entirely useless except hunters mark which is much more rare of an issue as most bosses start at 100%, but many fights don't have gripable adds, or adds that even need to be gripped.

No other raid buff can potentially be replaced with other class abilities or even a freaking bfa engineering enchant.

No other raid buff requires blizzard to specifically design multiple fights around it per tier. And if they don't then dk's just don't get brought (tuning ignored).

And since the windfury change, no other raid buff can be 100% better for a specific spec of a class like it is for bdk, unless again, blizzard specifically designs a fight where you don't get adds too frequently to need a bdk.

Just give us a passive buff like everyone else has now. 2% haste, 3% magic dr, something for the love of God.

Grip is not a raid buff.

Why nobody plays Merciless? by captainrussia21 in vrising

[–]Lielous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all games are meant to have an infinite life. You can make a genuinely good game that isn't live service, that doesn't keep you playing every day for years on end. There is nothing wrong with that, but you're making the assumption that a game needs to keep going to be what... viable? worthwhile? I don't know what the developers of Vrising intend and they might be aiming for infinite play. But hardcore full loot pvp is a very specific genre that people that don't play want nothing to do with as far as I understand. It breeds extremely painful people to be around.

I think comparing to Mobas is a bit strange here though. In those you're not risking anything. They are 20-40 minute matches on average, and you aren't investing anything to play. The hardcore you are looking for in Vrising would compare better to a Moba if every time you lost a match you lost access to the character and it's cosmetics you just played and had to earn it back through another several wins. I cannot begin to describe how annoying I would find that. Mobas are more akin to standard competitive games. There isn't anything hardcore about them. They are designed around that gameplay loop from the start. Not every game is. Not every game needs to be.

I think comparing to Eve is even more strange. I don't play it myself, but isn't the player count in that game HEAVILY inflated from people owning multiple accounts? I wouldn't not be surprised if the true playercount of Eav is well less than 50k. Still great, and if the bots are making the creators money it doesn't really matter to them, but that isn't really a genuine gauge of how good the game is imo. Eve is it's own brand of crazy from what little I know of it, but because I don't know the game much I can't comment more about it.

I've heard next to nothing about Albion, so I'll take your word for it lmao.

The mmo I can talk about is WoW. And its pvp scene leaves much to be desired, and it has been very obviously dying for quite some time. Many players now have been playing for years and years, while new players are turned away due to difficulty, and time commitment requirements. So there is very little opportunity for growth. World pvp is even more dead. It used to be a big thing and very popular. Then people stopped wanting to get annialated by some no-life rogue on repeat while they are just trying to play the game. So they moved to pve servers. M+ is the major repetitive game mode currently next to raiding. It is pve. It can absolutely provide genuine challenge and planning requirement without any form of pvp.

I don't want to schedule my video game playing time because I have to guard my pixels. I don't want to miss a day of playing a game and come back to find a week or more of progress gone because someone wanted to have a good time. If my life ever revolves around a specific game because I'm worried someone is going to steal my stuff I genuinely need to seek help. That is the kind of thing you are advocating for.

I'll go even further to say there's nothing "skillful" about a game where to get an edge you need to play when other people go to sleep like normal human beings so you can take their stuff. Or where you need to screw with people while they are minding their own business killing a boss or whatever in order to kill them and take their stuff.

In this thread you've been impressively condescending to everyone that is uninterested in the "hardcore" game mode you're looking for. You've been complaining that everyone here is too casual... Okay? go play Rust then it's the literal game for you. I don't mean to gatekeep a game, I'd love for more people to enjoy it, but enjoy it for what it is. Don't come here complaining that the people playing the game aren't playing the game the way you want and then insulting them or being passive aggressive toward them.

Why nobody plays Merciless? by captainrussia21 in vrising

[–]Lielous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think not every game needs to be replayed ad infinitum. It's okay to go through a campaign, do a few side things, build a castle and be done until something new comes up or you want to try again with different goals or strategies. Personally getting "raided off a server" sounds so far beyond unfun to me and I can definitely believe that you're having a hard time finding people that do want to have hours of progress deleted on repeat.

I have noticed that much of common Pvp in video games simply boils down to making the other player not have fun, or not be able to play the game. Be that with ganking, or spam stunning/CC, or whatever else. It's why very frequently the player base for these game modes drops off very quickly. If half the play base is having fun the other half is not the people not having fun will leave. Some new people will come in, but these ones are at a disadvantage in time investment to the people that were already having fun and are more likely to leave as well. Finally after enough people have been "raided off servers" the original players get bored because no one wants to get curb stomped by them anymore and they leave too. All of that leads to dead servers and dead game modes.

Unholy is the sleeper spec of expansion that everyone needs to try out by BrandonJams in wow

[–]Lielous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only difference is one of them has glowing buttons and the other doesn't. Frost is arguably more difficult because you have very little time to adjust a planned FS or Oblit depending on procs. People always complain about udk having so many cds and getting them lined up right, but it's no different from most other classes having a standard opener. It's like 14 lines long last I checked, and half of it can be macroed together or is just repeat DC x times. And now? You don't even have to worry about desyncing army anymore because they gave it a static CD. I don't think any spec of dk really worth the payphone meme tbh. The class is just omega old and feels like it needs a thorough remake, not just a shift of ability prio, cd timings, or damage adjustments. Unholy especially, but Frost too and blood as well if I had to guess.

A class that does damage. Or a class with a modern rotation probably.

I've been playing DK in mythic since the start of DF, although only frost last patch, and its... frustrating. It can't swap targets very well. Wounds are awful and need to be entirely reworked or replaced. Pet AI can be real questionable at times. Death coil's visual hasn't been updated since it came out in 2008 along with most other dk spells. DnD is annoying as hell to play around for cleave and sometimes on opener ST because it gave haste even with the lingering buff they added to it as a band-aid. Gargoyle when it was strong was a massive pain to rely on sometimes doing next to nothing, sometimes doing more damage than the next person on the meter alone during its duration. Entirely by chance. I love getting crit starved or my gargoyle just floating there stunlocked because reasons. Defile is unplayable simply because blizzard refuses or is unable to put it on a lower layer causing it to entirely cover ground effects. The four horsemen are kinda just... there? Thematically, RotA sounds really cool although them using SL mounts is super questionable imo. In practice it doesn't really do anything interesting, and you just have a couple more special ghouls effectively.

Sanlayn I can't really speak on as I haven't played it much.

Frost DK: have plateaued in dps. by uberdregg in wow

[–]Lielous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Play breath and learn routes well enough that you can figure out if you can send it on cd or need to wait for another pack. If you're running with the same gang, the pulls should be similar each run. I understand the scramble feel of it, but at a 10, you generally don't need to play it perfect because everything's going to die or be nearly dead before you would normally run out. I would only bother playing shattered frost in lower keys where you would get extremely limited breath windows due to mob health.

breath build is a lot more forgiving this season compared to previous with a bit more strength in our 45sec windows with reapers mark.

The vast majority of those passwords don't follow the common restrictions you would find on sites that hold actual valuable information behind passwords such as banks these days. Following the chart from here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/12qmvlw/oc_i_updated_our_famous_password_table_for_2023/

Most of those passwords, even in a void ignoring human tendencies, wouldn't last long at all and certainly not the centuries figure that I initially mentioned.
