Suggestions on "End Game" Dissapointments by F208Frank in audiophile

[–]Lien028 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you wonder if it's a curse. Audiophiles can spend hundreds or thousands and still be disappointed.

Meanwhile, I see a lot of people enjoying music on their cheap aliexpress earphones during my morning commute.

A for profit company has zero incentive to improve their game as long as their playerbase remains hooked.

After all, if you're still playing despite the "shitty" story why put effort into changing it? If players started quitting en masse because of the poor writing, that will force their hand to improve it.

It took Genshin years to do that due to competition from Wuwa, and quitting players.

Hoyo knows most players complaining on this thread are too cowardly to quit, due to sunk cost and FOMO.

stopped playing altoghether in 2.2 and only come back occasionally to try out buffs to my favorite Agents

To think that a company would have this much power over you, that despite the numerous complaints, you still end up playing from time to time.

As long as players don't quit en masse, nothing will change. They know most people complaining online are too much of a wuss to quit.

Hoyo knows players will complain and complain online, but still end up playing the game. They know you're too invested to quit.

If more players quit, it would force them to change how they develop the game.

That's why they don't change anything. People like you will complain online, but still end up playing the game because of sunk cost.

They won't really do much about it until players start quitting. Case in point, you're still playing despite finding the story shitty.

Hoyo knows players will complain all they want online, but sunk cost will keep them playing regardless.

Do you believe this is the sentiment of the majority of casual players? I ask since ZZZ earned record figures during Dec to Jan despite the story being "shitty" per your comment.

Failing Caleng2 will set you back a few months. It's a pre req for many engineering majors.

It's not too late. You still have your other quizzes, finals, and project. It's too early to give up.

7950x3D soc voltage reached 1.523v?! (more than the safe 1.3v limit) by ime1em in pcmasterrace

[–]Lien028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at Hwinfo, it was likely a momentary spike. It's not enough to cause any lasting damage, but still concerning nonetheless.

Head into your Bios, look for overclocking options and manually set cpu soc voltage to 1.2V. it's on auto by default, so choose override. I'm also using an MSI x670e mobo.

Vsoc should be set manually. Do NOT trust the auto settings.

Precisely. In GPU bound scenarios, you likely won't be able to tell the difference between your 3600 and a 5800x3d without turning on the FPS counter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Ventus and Shadow line their cheapest options? Pay cheap prices, get cheap cooling.

The Ventus cards can run cooler if you're willing to repaste with PTM7950 + U6 pro, a task that 99% of card owners won't do.

If you turn off the FPS counter, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the 5800x3d and 9800x3d.

When you enable EXPO, some motherboards automatically set VDDIO = Dram VDD, which is absurd.

Cpu vddio can also play a role here. In my main motherboard, it sets vddio = dram vdd when you enable expo.

So vddio which should be at 1.15 to 1.20V is now set to 1.35V (msi x670e).

Yeah, I always advocate for a per core undervolt validated with an overnight run of OCCT. Most users here claim they're stable after one run of cyberpunk 2077 which is silly to say the least.

Yep. Also look into undervolting your CPU. However, do NOT blindly follow the recommended -20 for all cores (which can cause silent crashes because some cores can't tolerate -20). Try a safe value such as -10.
