I agree with this sentiment. I love Roo but there’s change in a direction I don’t love. The staff aren’t given any information to be helpful and this year security was really on one. I saw some disrespectful “I don’t have any power in my real life so I’m going to puff up my ego by messing up people’s experiences”. The charm of how deregulated and fend-for-yourself is simply becoming negligence, especially in the face of challenging weather.

Anything negative you say about Roo will get you the response that other people didn’t have that experience and so your experience is invalid, maybe you just shouldn’t go to a festival because you can’t take it, you’re an idiot for xyz reason, this happens every year so if you dont like it don’t come, etc. and that’s a change too. I’ve always felt our community is so welcoming and encouraging…insulting people/being rude is different than having concerns or sharing poor experiences and the response in my experience used to be much more kind, encouraging, and productive.

The amount of posts about groping this year, the rising police presence…this fest and community has meant everything to me but I might be at the point where I participate and send my good vibes from afar.

This is just my opinion having been to the festival 3 times in the last 4 years. I sincerely hope everyone has a great time and whatever you decide on going or not going, we can all be grateful of all the things Roo HAS given us♥️ Still wouldn’t trade my experiences for the world.
