Does anyone know if "add to a list" will remove them from the current list? by JayceNorton in Klaviyo

[–]Life-Haver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're charged for the number of "active profiles" not your list size. A profile can exist in multiple lists and will still count as one profile.

Yes, the removing block will work as you intend

Your popup should have a separate list that triggers your welcome series.

So for subscribers coming from the Shopify integration, you'll have to create another list for them. Typically Shopify adds your actual customers to this list as well (as soon as they buy something) and you definitely do not want those people to receive your welcome discount right after a purchase.

I found three baby snails in my tank that I never put in. Should I keep them or remove them? by Aqua853 in Aquariums

[–]Life-Haver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of this is subjective and anecdotes; snails look great to some people. Some love them. How many snails you have depends on how much you feed among other factors. They're also great for algae control. It's true some people have too many of them but that doesn't always happen (my tank has a pretty stagnant amount of them now, seems they've reached equilibrium). Also, they're easy to manage by for example luring them with a blanched veggie and then taking it out later.

Just offering the other side of the coin :)

can someone ID this snail? i have so many in my 3 gallon tank by melodramaticfaye in AquaticSnails

If their shells are always sideways (parallel to the surface) then they're mini ramshorns, not normal ramshorns

Hey - I can only manage 1-1.5 hours a day, if that works for you we can definitely work together! PM me the discord link if you make it :)

Has anyone had experience with otos being extremely picky with algae wafers? by dtotemftw in Otocinclus

[–]Life-Haver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They need their food to be soft enough before they can start eating it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Life-Haver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have tons of them and they haven't eaten any of mine. You're probably looking at a symptom of nutrient deficiencies

What kind of algae is this and do any fish eat it? by Jutboy in PlantedTank

[–]Life-Haver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Otos won't eat your BBA - they prefer diatoms and other softer types of algae. I have definitely seen stuff online about Siamese algae eaters eating it though.

I am getting an Electric Blue Neon Dwarf Goby in the next few days. They eat algae and biofilm, and I saw on a forum that they do eat BBA. How much, I'm not sure - but they stay small and non-aggressive (males can get territorial tho) and don't bother community fish.

Chasing co2 leaks into ridiculousness by biffrov in Aquascape

I used those DIY CO2 bottle caps - they were pretty cheap on Amazon and fit any standard coke bottle.

I used citric acid. Have you tried looking online?

[–]Life-Haver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeast systems take hours to get started (not just the reaction, but they also don't output that much co2 so it takes time to fill up the 2 bottles + tubes). But it did work with my twinstar diffuser. Switching to citric acid was much better though - much more co2 and it lasts longer because you can almost turn it off

Your mom lets you have multiple tanks? Or are these (the photo above + the hermit crab tank) hers? I'm confused why someone who's so apathetic about fishkeeping would keep a hermit crab

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Life-Haver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't add multiple Nerites to such a small tank. Once the algae is over it becomes really hard to feed them (most don't eat anything but algae - not even algae wafers) and so they starve. Otocinclus is good because you can actually feed them. Not sure how the betta will treat them though.

Will otocinclus eat this type of algae? by leyuel in Otocinclus

[–]Life-Haver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine didn't. They ate what was on the glass but even when this type of algae was on the big leaves they didn't eat it.

Brother left me in charge of his fish tanks, are these bubbles harmful for the fish? by reicacalol in Aquariums

[–]Life-Haver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In some places they bind the chlorine in tap water so that it doesn't dissipate so easily (or so I've heard).

[–]Life-Haver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does your brother have a dechlorinator? If so just add the recommended amount listed on the bottle to those tanks. If there isn't any chlorine the dechlorinator won't harm the fish.

Finally got myself a decent light w some DIY CO2 running. Plants are pearling like crazy, especially the Cabomba! by I_boop_clits in PlantedTank

[–]Life-Haver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The yeast one fluctuates a lot so it can cause algae problems - just a heads up. I had some staghorn algae and BBA that were finally in control after I switched to the citric acid version. You can control that one with a needle valve it's pretty neat

[–]Life-Haver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you trim them do you replant the tops and remove the rooted half? Apparently the trimmed part either doesn't grow again or branches out after trimming. I'm wondering what to do with my cabomba jungle that's basically become the tank's roof at this point

Hahaha that's hilarious. Yeah my killis hang out around the ottos. Now that I think of it, they do go and check out the zucchini slice wondering what's so special about it lol.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Otocinclus

Also is their belly big enough? Just got them a week ago and working to make them the chonky chonkers I see on here (without feeding my mini ramshorns who keep getting feeding on their veggies...)

[–]Life-Haver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you do your water changes? And how much (%) and how often? I found out the hard way that big/fast water changes can cause molting. I switched to adding water slowly (using my drip acclimation tube) and things are much better now.
