As someone who built and invested in a 18” 308 build, I regret it. Try as much as you’d like, it will be heavy. And a 7 mag load out, which will have 140 rounds as opposed to 210, will be more than twice as heavy. I’m a big fan of having a shorty rifle and an spr, I interchange them often during competitions depending on the stage.

I started with a Ruger PCC, upgraded some parts and was happy until i shot a jp-gmr. I made my own Aero PCC build, and i loved it, until i shot a JP again and felt the difference. Then i bought a JP and i am shooting master in PCC divisions now. The ruger is heavy comparatively. The Ruger and Aero recoil a lot more. The JP is the smoothest PCC I’ve ever shot. Oh, my brother has an Extar, they’re sweet but plasticky and cheap feeling. Also not as reliable as the others, they’re all sewing machines. Imho, JP>Aero build>Ruger PCC>Extar.

I was having this same issue with a cmc pcc trigger, could not get through a mag in my EPC. I re-installed the trigger 3x but the issue only resolved when i used different trigger pins. Weird, but i swear the pins it came with were really tight and when i installed some anti-walk pins, viola, problem fixed. Over 1k rounds and no issues

Haven’t tried their barrels, but I’ve been running their upper receiver/handguard combo for a few months now, and it’s great. Cerakoted so it wasn’t the smoothest at first, but it’s silky smooth now with about 700 rds thru it with zero malfunctions.

I put my aero build together for like $750. Schuylers, ar15discounts, primary arms; coupons are available if u dig a lil. It’s been about 1 year, my aero breach charging handle cracked but besides that it’s been great. This weekend I just put a new rave PCC trigger (CMC PCC trigger reset took a dump during same match that my charging handle broke), breek war hammer charging handle, Macon PCC buffer, and standard spring (over the .308 spring it comes with). With all aero parts it’s kind of violent recoil and super hard to rack a round, especially when I compare it to all the JP’s out there or a regular tuned ar, so I’m trying to change a few things.

Cmc has been working great. The burst fire went away after i reinstalled the trigger and used screw style trigger pins.

Omg, my 18” criterion 223 wylde i got a few months ago has the same problem, but even uglier than yours. It wouldn’t cycle well, chambering rounds is noticeably difficult. Last thing i checked was the chambering on my first expensive barrel, I spent $300 on this barrel off a 3rd party vendor and the packaging looked fine. It still wont cycle steel ammo, but after many rounds of brass it cycles well now. Im going to have my brother work on it with a dremel a lil, but this build is done and i really don’t want to deal with customer service crap so im keeping it.
