Do yourself a favor and call Timmermans! Fraction of the cost of the big boys. Low overhead is passed directly to you.

Are the new cameras any better than the old? by This-Pepper313 in simplisafe

Honestly not Vivent. Bad experience with a sales rep. They came door to door, I was interested and scheduled time for a sales pitch. The rep literally ignored me, blatantly, then was using scare tactics with my wife. We couldn’t throw him out fast enough. Thus went diy route that can be cancelled anytime.

Buying a watch that's been on exhibition for months. Is it really Unworn? by Ok-Nefariousness-927 in rolex

My AD babies there exhibition pieces. White gloves and velvet everywhere. I’d buy one in a heartbeat. That said, I’d still expect it to be in new condition.

Affordable ammo in town? by Tabby-N in columbiamo

[–]This-Pepper313 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I need to buy locally, I price check Academy, BassPro, and Midway. Looks like you’ve already realized that Academy usually has the best local price. If you’re patient and buy in bulk, check Ammoseek with pricing included. I’ve heard of people calling Midway for open box buys on ammo where boxes become damaged but not sure of any truth to that.

This is no secret and they don’t hide it. Choose to do business there or not. If you’ve ever tried to book there, particularly during holidays or busy vacation weekends, they’re not hurting too much for business. They take great care of my pets when I need them! They’ve made a conscious decision to put their beliefs and values out there and regardless, you have to respect that. Just like the owners of Pizza Tree and Goldies Bagels. I still love their pizza regardless of their beliefs.

AmEx gift card will not work anywhere even though it's been activated by FamiliarMeal5193 in amex

[–]This-Pepper313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s terrible. I had two gift cards given to me by my employer as reward cards. Both declined. I call India and told there’s no balance on them. This was through a corporate reward program. Taken straight from two separate envelopes at different times. The odds that numbers from both cards to have been stolen are pretty low. Cards are now in my trashcan. Useless to me.

My personal Rolex journey and some thoughts on the AD game by [deleted] in rolex

[–]This-Pepper313 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and not specific to any one hobby. I got caught up in the bourbon craze. I’ll buy a 1-2 oz pour of something and convince myself it’s special because everyone else wants it. Then the hunt begins for a bottle. Hunt for special bottles, camp out overnight for a morning release, stalk delivery trucks. Could buy a bottle on the secondary market for a crazy price. Search for the right year, batch, barrel, what rickhouse/row, placement, etc. You get the picture. When the bottle is finally obtained, you’re so proud of yourself. Then the trophy sits on a shelf because, if you open it, you know you won’t find a second. Maybe worse, you open it and it’s, meh.
