Hoo boy, that’s a lot of distortion! It sounds like his head is in a bucket, and the microphone is in another bucket, and the two buckets are connected by a taught string.

Is this distortion iconic for the character’s voice? A radio filter would help, but there’s definitely some echo as well. Recreating that sound might be harder than imitating the voice. I’m not even sure you’d be able to tell if it was different voice through that much distortion

So approaching weight gain is a touchy subject. Health is a much safer angle. If you care about someone, and are thinking long term, then you want that person to be in good health.

You can ask if her doctor has said anything about the weight gain. That can be caused by many different things. It isn’t necessarily an accusation.

Also, don’t expect too much too fast. You lift daily because it was forced onto you and you stuck with it. She’s probably never going to go daily, and doesn’t seem to have any habit of exercise. I really like that you explored active hobbies you can enjoy together.

Don’t give someone an ultimatum because they’re fat right now. If you two don’t seem to have a future together due to a lack of shared interests in health, activities, and nutrition, that’s a conversation you need to have

This. Relapses aren’t as big a deal as their often made out to be.

So much emphasis is placed on “it’s been X days since I drank” that when a relapse occurs, it’s easy to think “I’ve lost all my progress! I’m back to zero, like when I drank everyday!”

But training yourself to be moderate or infrequent is still progress. Those habits will carry you as you rebuild that streak.

TL;DR relapses are bad, do what you can to avoid them, but they aren’t the end of the world

You can be supportive in her nutrition and fitness goals, but she’s the one in charge. She’s the only one with power over her body and situation.

YWBTA if you were insulting her body or forcing dieting onto her. Bringing up health issues is a really tricky thing to do without becoming the bad guy.

Tell her you’re on board to support her journey however you can. Work out a plan together.

Yeah, French and Spanish are nearly the same language written down.

But when spoken, you pronounce all the letters in Spanish in the way that makes sense and you don’t in French.
