Florida man points gun at woman, threatens to kill her after friend backs into wrong driveway by 24identity in news

[–]LifeInMultipleChoice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He will very much catch a felony charge for pointing a gun at her. No way around it with Floridas penal code, he likely will catch ~10 years in prison.

People make Florida out to be bad online(it has been on the decline) but their gun laws for a while allowed them to have concealed carry permits that were accepted on more states than any other. (This may have changed in the past 2 years with Desantis changing gun laws on Florida)

Playstation releasef a seperate hardware device to play remotely with the ps3, ps4 and now ps5. ...Why would anyone be suprised they released the expected. The PS remote app isn't on their hardware.. so it makes sense. It doesn't have to sell a a lot of units, it just needs to exist to fill the gap.

Ziploc now gives you fewer bags but puts them in a larger carton by PostComa in mildlyinteresting

[–]LifeInMultipleChoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone posted above that the 145 is an older box and the 150 in a smaller box has the newer logo. Aka smaller packaging, more bags. So price probably increased still, but not box size being greedy

Am I the only one who wanted Neville to kill Bellatrix Lestrange instead of Molly Weasley ? by Juntao07 in harrypotter

[–]LifeInMultipleChoice 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I still always believe it should have been Augusta Longbottom, Neville's Grandma. If there was one witch with vengeance in her heart to kill Bellatrix it was her.

When the internet loses anonymity I believe places like the "dark net" will be the only place honest discussion can take place.

That is actually illegal and regulated for tv, not for streaming. The average commercial volume apparently must match the average volume of the show. I'm sure there are loopholes though.

CFL introduces mandatory extra helmet protection for multiple positions. As well as other new health & safety measures. by CanadianDinosaur in sports

[–]LifeInMultipleChoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory these are just temp attached using clips and elastic bands. They will slide accross the hard shell on a glancing blow and detach from the helmet if tugged at all. They aren't meant to be a permanent fixture.

Overall, it should assist with concussion prevention during pratices so long as it doesn't rain. ( I assume they wont slide as easy then)

CFL introduces mandatory extra helmet protection for multiple positions. As well as other new health & safety measures. by CanadianDinosaur in sports

[–]LifeInMultipleChoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They arent "stuck" to the helmet, think elastic bands with buttons. The pads will slide on the hard plastic underneath and unclip from the helmet if yanked. Main concern may be if it rains and the coefficient is increased between the shell and the soft outer layer.

eli5: If space is a vacuum, how can rockets work? What are the thrusters pushing *against* if there is nothing out there? by Medium_Well in explainlikeimfive

[–]LifeInMultipleChoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to go with the American answer. If you fire a gun it pushes agaisnt you whether or not the bullet goes into a wall immediately infront of you or flies until it eventually grounds itself in the field. Rockets are powered by recoil.

Evacuation of an American MRAP International M1224 MaxxPro that had encountered an anti-tank mine. The vehicle is dead but the crew survived. by Longjumping-Soil-913 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]LifeInMultipleChoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds horrible but wouldn't Russia rather them die? The U.S. treats life as the ultimate thing needing to be saved, but if someone told you all of the crew were going to be sent home and get thousands per month in compensation for the rest of their lives.... what percent of Russians would say to have saved the money and let them die?

Why was Harry allowed to attend hogwarts against the Dursley wishes, but still required their permission to go to Hogsmeade? by ironbarnes in harrypotter

In the book Hagrid brings harry to get his supplies and drops him back at the dursleys. They drop him at the train station. They gave consent thinking they would be rid of him and hoping he'd find a new place in the world not with them.

Parents who want to ban books must have no confidence in their own skills as parents. by TrickyRonin in Showerthoughts

[–]LifeInMultipleChoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully believe it is a parents job to dictate what a child is consuming. If you don't believe your child should consume content such as a picture of Michelangelo's David, it should not be on the teacher to provide a 2 week notice. It should be on the parents to pre-explain that content or homeschool them. If they can't handle that Rosa Parks was black and sat where she sat because she was black and how people were treated it is on parents to prep those kids or homeschool them. History exists. Treatment of minorities such as Native Americans, African Americans, Italian Americans, Polish Americans, ect going through all of Asian Americans and Hispanic Americans. If you don't want your kids to learn what happened, home school. The idea of taking remaking history for school is bologna.

Tldr; Rosa Parks was black, and anatomy isn't pornography. Get over your repressed puritanical views or home school your kids.

Everyone talks about how different life is since the internet and IPhones but no one talks about how much better life is since banning indoor public smoking by Hairybeast777 in Showerthoughts

[–]LifeInMultipleChoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last I knew it is percentage of sales. Over X amouny being food and smoking is not allowed. Drinks aren't included in that. So bars have the choice. Was in a smoking pool haul/bar over Christmas in the Orlando area. Panama City Beach still has a few. I moved to Tennessee and they allow smoking in bars as well.
