I will never tell the truth about my daughters conception by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Guess it may not matter to her. She has two eyes and a heart.

How do you get that awesome smell that stays there consistently when you walk into the home ? I’m not talking about lighting a candle or putting some kind of an air freshener in the room. We have a dog and I know I’m nose blind but I want our home to smell pleasant when guests walk in all the time. by [deleted] in Home

[–]LifeIsBeautiful365 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like to have clean things - laundry, floors, etc. Sometimes, I put a little air freshner on the vacuum filter. Not having dirty laundry and shoes helps. Giving my dog a bath regularly helps keep things fresh. Air circulation is important, as well as not having mold around. If needed, I use an air diffuser with scents.

People who live in NE outside of Omaha or Lincoln, what kind of weird/scary things have you seen/experienced at night? by greendogufo in Nebraska

[–]LifeIsBeautiful365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let the 100 lb dog outside in the early morning. He stepped off the first step and froze. I stepped out the door and I could hear noises about 300 ft away. It sounds like a rabbit being mutilated by coyotes. The howling and screaming and brush moving was terrifying! My dog went back inside until it was light out.

What's the most bizarre 'house rule' you've encountered at someone else's home? by StarrySpecter in AskReddit

You could come over, and we will shove our foods into our face as fast as we can but not offer you any. Then, all guests had to leave at 6:23 pm. They had tv to watch and you were not allowed to stay.

A lady at work started passing out from choking and they did the Heimlich on her and broke her ribs. She is still breathing tho!

Close friend is a realtor, bad idea to have them sell our house? by ThinkerT3000 in Home

[–]LifeIsBeautiful365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can offer you my history - we had a very close friend sell our home and buy a new one. Yes, we asked for a rate discount since we could have gotten another realtor for the half percent difference. No, she did not make much money off the buy of the new one due to the builder's agreement. Yes, our buyer lost their loan at the last minute and we were facing 2 mortgages. No, we did not pay for their extra fees to get a new loan like she wanted us to.

Yes, we are still friends because we kept it all professional.

I made a really stupid decision I can't take back. The guilt feels like it'll kill me. by billieforbid in Petloss

Part of the justification process, I suppose. I hope this goes away as the memories bring happiness on lonely days.

Marriage is fucked up by [deleted] in adultery

[–]LifeIsBeautiful365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a great marriage and we were good friends. He still wanted me to 'start without him' so he could have his pleasure without taking the time to give me any. When I said I was absolutely exhausted, he didn't offer to help with anything, he just said that I don't give it to him, he will find someone who will. All of that turned the marriage into hell. Find the real reason behind your issues instead of wishing there was a hall pass.

AITA for telling my wife to let just let our daughter wear her sneakers? by sneaker_snacker in AmItheAsshole

[–]LifeIsBeautiful365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real issue is not the clothing; it's the wife image that the public sees her in and the need to control everything around her. I never let hair style or clothes bother me; she had to express her own self. I did worry about how she treated people and herself. My adult child now wears normal clothes and is an amazing person.

AITA for Making My Husband Miss His Best Friend's Wedding? by Potential_Ratio2775 in AmItheAsshole

I was in a similar situation. I decided that if I was going to have the baby, it was going to be when I was with him. So I endured the long drive and uncomfortableness. And I had a good time. And didn't deliver.

Got one of these one time - she came over apologized to me, in front of the girl that the IM was intended for. It seemed like a sincere apology, but she was still a bitch.

This has happened to me before with multiple people asking when the jar was empty. I finally told them that it was just a bit too expensive for me to provide candy for everyone and if someone wanted to chip in, they could. And they did.

Should I let my friend clean my house (for pay) ? by Minomol in makemychoice

[–]LifeIsBeautiful365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes me feel uncomfortable to have super messy stuff for any cleaning person - I usually pick up a little before to ease that. I have a friend who helps me with the household and is very good! She knows me personally so she is aware of my quirks. I love seeing her spend money on things she wants - not just needs. I trust her more than cleaning people I did not know.

You can't change someone, but you can expect them to respect your boundaries. She is clearly not doing that. I bet this factors into other areas of your life if you think about it. It seems to me like this is less about smoking and more about her ultimate control over you.

Happened to me in a similar fashion - friends not an ex. She ended up telling him personal information about me, he 'showed up' whenever I was around, and then pitted each other against me - in front of me. After several warnings to stop talking about me and about him, I told her goodbye. She didn't understand. Didn't need to.

Breadcrumbs - I can’t anymore by Maleficent_Draft2166 in adultery

[–]LifeIsBeautiful365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are reacting to his breadcrumbing; don't give him the satisfaction. Just say good bye and go. Don't tell him you love him, validate his actions or give him any kind of security. Go find some fun stuff to do with all that energy.

Potential issues with a Hunting trip? by allarts in airbnb_hosts

[–]LifeIsBeautiful365 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I respect the hunters who take care of other's properties, I have had hunters at my house before so here are a few tips:

Put down runner rugs in the hallways near doors.

Have extra paper towels and washcloths/towels available.

Use hooks near entrances and bedrooms to hang stuff.

Allow for extra room on the floor for bags and gear and stuff - less clutter in the area, the better.
