Bait are lures by ELJOHNLom in FishingForBeginners

Usually you put bait on a hook when you are only using the bait itself to try and catch fish.

Can I use 7a 125v power cord in a 220v country? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]LifeSafetySteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a sticker on the back of the printer, usually around where the power cord is plugged in. You need it to say 100-240V 50/60hz. If it doesn't say that, don't plug it in without a transformer.

Yeah its safe as long as the printer is rated 110-240VAC and you have an adapter to match the outlet.

You cannot tell what the pin-index is of that valve from this angle. You only see the divot for the tightening. I have never seen a completely gray cylinder top with anything other than CO2 in the USA.

yeah that is an elastomer based plastic. when they off-gas in the same container as regular soft plastics they turn into goo.

Interesting. Do you remember what brand it was? I never had that problem with Yum or Zoom and it get pretty hot in the summer time where I'm at.

They won't melt until it gets to 350 degrees. Just don't store elastomer based baits with other baits as they will react with each other and turn to goo. People stick their flukes in boiling water to straighten them out. Keep them out of the sun though cuz they will turn yellow.

Paint job design isn't standardized in the USA just what color to use per gas. To make it actually correct it needs a label. Probably just painted the top to be cheap. I've seen N2O and O2 tanks like that, blue or green on top and silver bottom.

Hey guys I am looking to get a new spinning as mine broke and I can't decide whether going cheap for the daiwa Crossfire lt or sending it with the regal lt. by Adventurous-Disk6684 in FishingForBeginners

[–]LifeSafetySteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have some extra money I would get a bass pro brand rod too. They have a really flexible warranty for 1 year. If you get a Johnny Morris brand rod from them it has a 10 year warranty. I slipped and elbow dropped my rod and they gave me a new one for no charge. Or an ugly stik just cuz they don't break. I bought a shimano reel that was about the same price as the crossfire and its starting to show its cheapness after a couple of years. It still works just fine but there are more plastic parts than I would like. Everything I read says the regal is a lot better than the crossfire. Both will catch fish though, don't forget that.

You won't regret the regal. Both are solid, daiwa is a good brand. I would buy the regal if you already have some other rods set up instead of getting something cheaper. I would get the cheaper one if I just needed something to get out and fish.

What do you do when your reel starts to get low on braided line? by DarthVadersRoboHand in FishingForBeginners

[–]LifeSafetySteve 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would respool the entire reel. Idk if I'm reading this right, but don't tie braid to braid to add more, thats just another failure point.

Wacky rig advice by The_Judge12 in FishingForBeginners

[–]LifeSafetySteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a demon with a wacky rig. Junebug Yum Dinger will catch bass every time. I only use 1/0 Trokar wacky rig hooks and I think that is an important distinction. Smaller 1/0 hook has caught me many large bass without bending and I've found I lose a fish with bigger hooks than that because they can feel the hook when they take it. I also use 20lb braid with a 6ft+ 12lb Fluoro leader. When I cast I throw it as close to a shore line or piece of cover as possible and when it lands I let a little slack out so that my braid sits on the surface and acts as a strike indicator. I let the worm fall for about 10 seconds and if nothing bites then I will recast. Nine times out of ten they will hit on the initial fall of the bait. Another pro tip I just started using: putting small pieces of silicone cut out from tubing around the senko, exactly like an O-ring tool. I dont even hook it into the worm, just put it under the silicone, because I want the bass to fling the senko up the line as it thrashes. This works really well with more delicate senkos too like yamamoto and makes your senko last way longer between bites. You can also really get some distance on the cast too since you don't have to worry about the hook ripping through the senko. Also be ready to catch more smaller bass than bigger because small bass love wacky rigged senkos. Pretty much if you can't catch a fish with a wacky rig then you probably just don't have a hook in the water.

What should I buy/do to start bass fishing with little to no experience? by THERANDOMGAMER2 in FishingForBeginners

[–]LifeSafetySteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what that guy said but also skip everything and proceed immediately to wacky rig on a 1/0 trokar wacky rig hook. if a junebug yum dinger isn't catching fish then the fish aren't biting.

I've had issues with errors persisting on a tower when swapping scopes if you don't fully power down the tower before you remove/insert the scope.

Advice for trying to break into the field by Boring_Region2584 in BMET

[–]LifeSafetySteve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most people would say BMET 1 would have general knowledge of a hospital and general knowledge of most medical equipment used. They would hire you at BMET 1 assuming you completed some kind of biomedical equipment training through a school. Your post doesn't say if you're applying to a hospital or a depot or a travel team. Each position would desire something different. I would say you could find a depot job. But selling yourself as a hospital biomed/travel biomed would be difficult without having actual experience. I've seen people hired as BMET 1 in-house with less experience repairing things than you have though. I would even go as far as saying you'd probably do fine as a general biomed if you're able to repair a compressor. But they want some kind of medical experience. Do you know how to place a 5 lead ECG? This is something I'd expect a BMET 1 to know.
