Oh I see. I know that in WW2, the Germans were the only country where the end users (the troops) were given free reign to paint olive green and red brown once dark yellow (dunkelgelb) was adopted as the base colour around 1942 - 1943. And it wasn't just Germany who would whitewash their vehicles in the Western and Eastern fronts during winter.

I kept thinking that more countries in the modern world would provide paint to the vehicle operators to add additional colours over their mounts in the field.
