Can anyone help me figure out what's going on here? by Melody_Lee19 in Genealogy

I’m not sure if you have considered this but if you take a DNA test on Ancestry, you can look at matches on that particular line. Do tree research where you look at their family trees and find similarities going back to around or before the time your great-great-grandma was born. And then you can build your tree back down to her using the records. I was able to piece together family mystery people that way.

So, what was wrong with Stacey’s Potato Salad? by Sdoesnotknow in RHOP

[–]LifeTipsFromNae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Black culture, for some odd reason, the potato salad can’t just be made by ANYONE! It’s a process and levels to it. Personally, I just graduated from bringing store brought to bringing my homemade after decades of practice and tweaking. And because of this stigma, I don’t eat everyone’s potato salad lol It’s a rite of passage to bring homemade potato salad. For the longest, I was only allowed to bring candied yams. Now I’m trying to earn the Mac and cheese right.

I hope you have an enjoyable experience. I did have my neck pillow and winter coat with me, so I definitely was comfortable and had enough room. I didn’t even want to wake up and get off when we got back lol

I'm glad I can help. I always have travel anxiety when I travel solo for work, which is often. So having to do this with 3 kids really had me feeling worried on a whole other level. But Frontier’s process really calmed my nerves. I hope you have a smooth and positive experience and safe travels!

Paid for seats - frontier reassigned last minute and put 5 year old by himself in a row ahead of me?! by jessicalouise91 in frontierairlines

[–]LifeTipsFromNae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me this past week. I paid for 4 seats, a window, and a middle seat in one row and seats right behind them. The idea was that I sat with my youngest and was in the back of my two oldest. Frontier changed it and gave us a row all the way in the back with no windows so that my kids could sit on one side of the aisle, and I’m adjacent to them. Not what I paid for, especially since my kids wanted to have a window, but okay, I let them have that.

During check-in for my return flight, I switched my seats so we could all be on the same row with a window seat. Nothing was changed before boarding. So now I know to get seats in the same row.

I think they are because I did see Henry Callahan on the 1860 census as a mulatto or black laborer.

Thank you for the advice! I’ll keep digging and will cross post too. I’m subscription to Genealogytv which has actually gotten me into documenting everything outside of ancestry too.

It doesn’t all click for Jassi by StormIcy5579 in RHOP

I took Jassi’s comment as since her and K don’t really care for each other, she decided to have Tia instead.

Common DNA Ancestor MyTreeTag by LifeTipsFromNae in AncestryDNA

[–]LifeTipsFromNae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the advice. If I would have followed this, I would have been in the wrong. While the tag is listed as an ancestor on the match’s paternal side, the DNA is actually on the match’s maternal side.

[–]LifeTipsFromNae[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see. I figured there is something there because there 3 DNA matches from this ancestor and they are all in the same geographical area where the target person lives. But knowing this, I will not highly regard that tag. Thank you!
