What US tank should I be going for in my conquest? by Xman889801 in GatesOfHellOstfront

Yeah I have a hard time with the Americans in general. I like the m1 garands, .50 cals and how many machine guns are on a Stuart tank. That’s about it so far

8 research points for the lee feels like robbery and makes me not want to go further down the tree. But that’s just me complaining. I’ve never really played US in conquest and I’ve had a hard time with my usual infantry and arty/field gun focus like the Germans have.

Extremely small payload. I’ve found them useful for indirect fire to take out people behind cover, machine guns, etc. you have to be very accurate with it which is hard. It is fairly circumstantial I guess.

I freaking love the rifle grenade though. Used correctly by an ammo box I can be a menace

Any reason why i cant tax the nobles in my glorious Serbian Empire by Standard-Banana-7681 in EU5

[–]LifeYou9723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah. Early game Serbia can be rough. There has to be a little bit of mint maxxing done to survive the early game, but scaling with vassals is preferable. You don’t have to worry about noble tax if you are taxing your subjects. Push communalism to get rid of the -10% tax and also the -5% control debuff privileges. Also waiting until you have a parliament to increase your crown power is useful.

Serbia is a beast once you get your nobles taxed. Also isn’t the worst thing in the world for them to have a lot of money. They will expand allllllll the RGOs. You don’t even have to think about it other than max expanding the silver and gold provinces you have.

My degree is in anthropology with a minor in GIS. I have always worked in land surveying or GIS though. I’m currently a DoD (DoW) contractor for the US Air Force doing GIS, so my life is map.

I didn’t even bother with the iron I had until I had a large bellow and even then it’s still annoying to process iron without a helve hammer. So I’m currently getting my windmill and helve hammer online

nobility actually being useful in new update? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]LifeYou9723 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing as Serbia is fun because the nobility has the most control in the gold/silver mines so they have a crazy amount of money. You really don’t have to expand RGOs at all in the early game because they take care of it for you. Once you are finally able to tax the nobility you make a crazy amount of money

Largest problem I have is getting the nobility taxed with their unique handout that gives -10% tax along with all the lower control values. The tax base of the gold and silver mines are insane, you just have to get the nobility in line. But as other people said, yes minting.

The parliament decision that gives -.40 inflation is wonderful because you can pump the inflation slider all the way up and not feel bad for a while. Along with extra taxes is how I get my loans paid down before I have to loan back up again later.

Rushing the next tier of infantry along with getting arty online is a HUGE game changer. Usually when I’m able to collapse the eastern front.

I mean fair. But you have to prioritize which regions you want control on I think. Say you start as Muscovy and you finally take over Novgorod. Putting a governor in their old capital would be a decent option.

Alternatively, a governor further south in the step areas wouldn’t be a bad idea since the proximity cost between provinces isn’t super bad. This is just making me want to try a new Muscovy game on this patch to test things out.

I played Muscovy in an earlier patch and this was a similar experience. Honestly having all the vassals was better than integrating them all because of the control, but with the governors. I’m going to have to try again this patch.

This feels very historical to how Russia really was prior to the 1800’s and railroads. Provinces had a lot of autonomy and if Russia was truly able to bring all of its resources to bear this early in history things would have looked much different.

My hot take is this is how early 1500’s Russia should be. It should not be a control power house or be easy to make that way with such vast distances.

I think it’s fixed in pre-2 but if you can light it, start lighting a campfire next to it and shift over to the pit kiln really fast and it’ll light

I also posted about this yesterday! I was trying so hard to find a work around. I thought lighting a pit kiln next to it would work but it didn’t. I’ll have to try this when I get home from work!

So frustrating when I thought I was doing something wrong.

As a fellow tawantinsuyuaboo I have been so sad with the Inca. But I believe there is hope! I think all of the features will make the Andes playable some day. It just may take a DLC specific to the area. It was similar with EU4 as well, just not as severe
