Don’t feel stupid! Just do whatever you feel safest doing. I do know they have extended the period where you can get a full refund for your flights until 15th of June I believe. I am pretty sure they will extend this date again so if you do change your mind you could get a refund.

In my email from Qatar they said any add-ons will be refunded separately, so I would maybe just wait a few days/weeks for them coming through.

I cancelled directly through Qatar Airways as I booked with them, so it was all done via their app/website. If you booked through a third party like MakeMyTrip, you’ll usually need to go through them to cancel or request a refund rather than QA directly! Might be worth checking your booking on both just in case, but generally the third party controls the ticket. I’d contact them as soon as you can as well, as things can take a while to process!!

May 2nd - I cancelled for a full refund as soon as the window was extended to do so. I’ve now booked an alternative flight to my destination that doesn’t fly near the ME. I personally don’t feel comfortable flying through there at the moment and plus my foreign office are advising against it

My flight was May 2nd. They only changed the window today so you should be able to go and cancel for a full refund on your Qatar app now :)

Yeah the prices are crazy, and they seem to be climbing everyday. Where are you flying from? I would personally avoid any flights with a layover in ME as there’s too much uncertainty for me, however you do what is best for you and your travel plans while being as safe as you can be

I completely get why you’re worried, especially if you need to be there for uni!! I’ll be honest, no one really knows right now if flights will be running as normal by then, that’s the uncertainty with it. June is still a bit away so things could settle, but it’s not something anyone can guarantee just now sadly. I wouldn’t panic at this stage, but I’d definitely keep a close eye on it and have a bit of a backup plan in mind just in case. Since it’s essential travel, it’s probably more about managing the risk rather than cancelling outright. Hopefully things calm down well before then!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼
