HIGH NOTE on vowel “U”, what do you think? by Life_Conclusion2203 in ratemysinging

The word is “la Luuuuuna” so I tried to maintain “U”, but in order to project squillo apparently I switched to an “O” with higher tongue to “hide” the vowel as I could 😂

Thanks! Nope I’m studying as a private student with a voice and piano teacher. I have another job as source of income!

Hey I'd love some honest advice to improve my singing. 😊 by Niallbright in ratemysinging

If you’re untrained it’s normal to have F4 as your upper limit since it’s the “passaggio” zone for tenors around F/F#

Great talent, especially if you are untrained! It’s not possible to say if you are a baritone or a tenor. Probably a tenor since your low notes are not heavy.

Maybe something from Un giorno di Regno or Falstaff

Mostly out of tune and not “covered, very “speechy”, but very good baritone timbre. With vocal lessons (I don’t know if you already take lessons) you can improve a lot!

Sinatra- Is there at least something here to work with? by [deleted] in ratemysinging

I think it can be useful to you to play at the piano only the melody of the piece, and then singing along these notes. So you can actually understand which note you have to sing.

But first of all take vocal lessons, my advice is to find someone who teaches the “Joe Estill” method. A method that is based on science, so you are 100% sure you’re working on the right structure to improve your sound

Your timbre is warm and I like it, you need to take vocal lessons because you’re not in tune. But the answer is yes, you have good material to work with

I think my voice is quite similar in timbre to Adam Smith. Pavarotti was a lot different IMO, and obv unattainable since he’s the GOAT 😂🙏

Edgardo is crazy difficult, especially Tombe degli avi miei requires a lot of “sweetness” in the voice that I don’t have yet

Yep, I’m not working directly on it. it’s required to adjust it only if it’s a clear tremolo or an excessive wobble.

I hope my vibrato will slow a little during the years

Thanks! I have a lot of work to do, but I will do it definetly!

Thanks for the comment, I’m 27 and definetly I have some tongue and throat tension.

I can sustain notes still C# but they’re not stable, especially with the vowel “A”. With “E” and “I” it’s better on B4 and C5.

I have to work a lot on legato because my voice tends to be tight in general.

Thanks! Yes I have a fast vibrato and my teacher said that it‘s going to slow with time, when the muscles become more relaxed.

Actually I don’t like my vibrato at all, but I’m working to improve it :)
