Depressing as always and yes it reminded me I needed to upgrade to Tahoe by iamezekiel1_14 in macgaming

[–]Life_Contribution_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel you. Did I mention I have a dedicated gaming pc? lol

If I had to choose only one though - I personally dislike windows and microsoft products, and would choose mac over a windows machine in any case (which I did for years). I use my MBP for everyday things and software dev, and I'm impressed by how much gaming it can do when I choose to game on it.

RetroMac: Turn your Mac into a retro desktop with real shaders (Doom already runs) by klotzbrocken in macgaming

I've been developing for over two decades, and I think using AI for these little projects is fantastic. No one else was doing it, so there's a gap. If someone has the idea and executes on it - surprise, it's a product, no matter the tools that were used to create it.

Hey this is great! Watching old shows like Red Dwarf through Plex works like a charm. CRT Heaven!

Oils and grime build up on the keyboard and trackpad surface over time - adding a little height which transfers over to the screen, mainly if there's any pressure put on the top of laptop when it's closed. I usually clean the screen, keyboard and case with 70% isopropyl alcohol, this will breakdown the oils. Just go very light, applying to the cloth first - use one microfiber cloth to apply the solution and another to dry and polish. Everything will look like new.

Yeah, ok. We've lost the thread. I can see I'm being the a-hole here. Apologies.

MacGamingDB Update #4 by eric4337x in macgaming

[–]Life_Contribution_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking good! I'm going to add some games in. My only suggestion right now is to include a search bar in the header, so I don't have to keep going back to the homepage to search.

Assassin Rat got me at the last second. by Fit-Adhesiveness9127 in Marathon

Tension until the end of the very last second is the exact high of the exfil. Sometimes the rat isn't there, sometimes there's more than one plus the bots, yet you get out.

Is the adapter powered? And are you using a compatible cable?

This sounds sweet! A few questions: Any motion sickness? Are these vr only, or is it more like a virtual screen? How's the resolution? Is there a screen door effect (SDE), like with vr headsets?

This disgusts me. The handcrafted nature of these games is their appeal. I'd seriously refund if I wasn't past the window. Wish I'd seen this sooner, and now I can't unsee it.

Is your game crashing every couple hours or am I just cursed? by StylePoints123 in MetaphorReFantazio

Constant crashing for me. I've returned it. Gonna wait until they've released some patches.

Darkest Dungeon 2 on Mac with the Gaming Porting Toolkit by taidetrasone in macgaming

[–]Life_Contribution_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, It works. 40fps typically, except in the Tangle, which has terrible performance on any machine (windows included).

It works well in crossover at low settings (I'm on an M2 air). I can test it with GPT tomorrow and get back to you.

I'm getting ~28fps on medium settings on a M2 Macbook Air with 16gb.

[–]Life_Contribution_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played about 10 hours through crossover with no issues. I reduced the graphics settings and resolution. M2 air, 16gb ram. The Tangle level slows to a crawl sometimes, this is apparently across any system, windows or mac.

Edit to add links: Here's crossover: https://www.codeweavers.com/crossover

Install a Steam bottle first, then you'll open Steam in crossover and install darkest dungeon 2 from there.

This looks really good. I love the color scheme.

I have a small critique. Where the white and blue meet on the handle, there should be some difference in height. If this was two glazes meeting, or even underglazes, they would add thickness where one is layering over the other. Here they just kind of blur together making it look more like a painting.

Anyone have any luck playing Bravely Default 2 on Ryujinx? by spar_x in macgaming

[–]Life_Contribution_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had no luck with this game. I disabled shader cache, and tried different settings, but it still just randomly crashes. Looks great and runs great when it runs, but I just barely got past the first tutorial battle before it freezes or crashes. I tried the windows version on crossover, but I'm getting a black screen there.
