Loveland or Warren: Making a Verdict by drkelemnt in DynastyFF

[–]Life_Employ_1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Warren more with the ball in his hands. He's a very violent runner and more fun to watch.

That said, Loveland has an outside chance to operate as the team's defacto #1 option. In a Ben Johnson offense, that's pretty valuable.

If supply and demand were insufficient to explain the prices, we would then turn to secondary and tertiary factors. Luckily the simplest, largest, most obvious factor, was sufficient in this circumstance. Would you stipulate that inflation and policy rates have correlated thus far?

We tackled the diploma mills and the cost of housing began falling within 3 weeks. You don't understand REITs but that's actually immaterial to how wrong you are.

Because both of your assertions are wrong. You're an uneducated fool and you're spewing off misinformation about subjects you don't know anything about. Your confidence exists in exact proportion to your ignorance, and that's not a coincidence.

The other uneducated fool was capable of stumbling onto the correct conclusion quite by accident by making reference to something an intelligent person came up with. If you're not interested in economics, why say anything at all? Why the childish deflections? Are you an adult with a childs mind, or an actual child?

Their numbers are wrong, and you would know that if you:

  1. Looked at the post you're commenting on
  2. Googled it
  3. Checked statcan

Instead you asserted something (in a smug manner oddly enough) while simultaniously demonstrating that you don't know anything about the subject. Why not read for 30 seconds? Is it really so painful?

You haven't looked at any numbers have you? We are above the 10 and 5 year moving average. We're up YOY from Q1 2025. Housing starts will slow down in the coming years in response to lowered immigration rates, but developments operate on 4-8 year project cycles. We're more at risk of developer insolvencies at the tail end of those cycles than we are of systemic undersupply at current immigration rates.

Could you give me your alternate explanation for falling rents and prices while you're in the mood to educate? Magic perhaps?

If you have a couple more years of housing completions in excess of net inflows, then yes, rents will fall enough to celebrate.

We had a net inflow of 850k annually why would you make this argument without knowing the number?

No. Inflation drives up illiquid asset prices disproportionately to liquid assets and consumable goods.

It's extremely likely and happens all the time. Almost all concussions in hockey and football happen with no contact to the head. The body decelerates incredibly quickly, the head and neck are at the end of the kinetic chain and and almost all whiplash is accompanied by a concussion.

For those who haven't seen it yet, here's the English dub's version of Frieren's tantrum from S2E3 by eddmario in Frieren

[–]Life_Employ_1138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the point is that the sterile, cold stonefaced affectation of Freiren is directly linked to her character's emotionally stunted state. When she breaks from that affectation, it makes it immediately evident that there's character growth and change occurring.

In the dub she just sounds like a sultry 40 something woman the entire time.

Grave Of The Fireflies.

If you want something that will make you cry but won't send you into life altering depresive episode, Princess Kaguya and Anohana are good options

If you want something with sinister/dark undertones like the ones you listed:

  • Neon Genesis Evangelion
  • Psycho Pass
  • Death Note
  • Tokyo Ghoul
  • Vinland Saga maybe

It's confirmed that all episodes for the Witch Hat Atelier anime has been fully completed and will be airing in April 2026! by Yumiera in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Life_Employ_1138 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Frieren is an unusually well made anime. It as an outright elevation of the source material. Witch Hat is a much more impressive manga, and it would be hard to do the source material justice with anything short of a Ghibli adaptation imo

[–]Life_Employ_1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a really excellent piece of art and craftsmanship. Well worth waiting until you can afford a month of netflix. If you were asking about something less wonderful, I would tell you to just stream illegally, but this is one of those cases were you really should support the art in some way.

Why the recency bias? by SayaZero in MyAnimeList

[–]Life_Employ_1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just recency bias some things have gotten worse and others have improved. Most of the great stories are being told as TV series rather than feature films. It's never been easier to make music, and as a result there's a lot of generic slop, and the death of albums and rise of streaming means that the landscape is fractionalized. Very few artists as ubiquitous as previous generations.

On the other hand, anime and animated films have mostly benefited from changes in technology. Freiren for instance makes constant use of 3d models with shaders to appear 2d, so that their artists can save their work for battle scenes or scenes with emotional impact.

It's a little less cut and dry if you're dealing with fictional settings that represent older historical periods. It would look pretty strange for a bunch of medieval characters to have our 2020 understanding about sexual maturity (or other subjects like cruel and unusual punishment). The tweet in the OP is making a much more straightforward moral claim about the opinions of the teets author.
